Boardwalks

Tried this out tonight with a couple friends from work based on a recommendation. The ambiance is kind of like a family restaurant/diner. We were seated very quickly because it wasn't very busy. We ordered crab dip as an appetizer and a couple different kinds of pizza. The crab dip was good, seemed to be cream cheese mixed with summer crab meat with Old Bay sprinkled on top. We waited an additional 30 minutes to get to the pizza. The waitress was very attentive and apologized a couple of times for the long wait. The food was okay. Will I go out of my way to go back? Probably not.

I've been here three times. The second time was a few months ago. I had crab cakes, and they were very good. This last time, which was three weeks ago, I ordered crab cakes and French fries. My husband had chicken strips and fries. The fries were fine, quite good. My crab cakes were....weird. Whoever made them made them small, and the coating was sporadic. They were dry. The chicken strips were the weirdest-looking we've ever seen. They were just okay. Nothing you'd tell anyone about and urge them to rush in to order them. There were skids of #10 cans sitting in two corners. And the interior is pretty old and dated. I don't think we're going back.

I don't know what happened 😞. Before the pandemic their breakfast was amazing. I looked forward to going there every Sunday. Boardwalks recently opened for breakfast again . Had the crab crepe. It used be delicious. The crepe was hard and dense, crepes are supposed to be light and thin. Hubby had the western omelette. Since when do you put sausage links in a Western omelet. Long story short, the breakfast was horrible. I used to love going to boardwalks, now I will stick to Lyndon diner.

Wanted to try this place for dinner. Overall the food was delicious! We got a medium pepperoni pizza, homemade chips, potato skin, and fried pickles. The boardwalk style pizza had a lot of flavor and was topped well. The homemade chips were delicious and perfect! Cripsy, but some soft ones (which I personally love). They followed my instructions for the potato skins, so I appreciate that. But I have to take one star awaw for the fried pickles.. Idk what went wrong but yikes.. When we got home to eat our food I opened the container to be met with a slimy, wet mess.. I don't think they were even really fried..? Really wet, and not one bit of crispness.. I tried heating them in the oven the next day to salvage them, and even 20 minutes in the oven couldn't crisp them up... Overall we would go here again!
