Ordered through app, it was ready when I walked in to collect. The fish was perfect, batter crisp and the fish white, hot and very tasty but the chips while hot and cooked ok. I don't know why but nowhere seems to cook chips properly, soft inside and crispy and brown outside. Would go again

Gale Lane fisheries used to be the best Fish and Chips in York and now this guy has bought them (4years ago) now he's the best Fish and Chips in York. Lovely guy and the food was ace, decent enough price as well as nothing is truly cheap anymore so respectable pricing

The Acomb Mega Chippy is a really good traditional fish and chip shop. There is an extensive menu and meal deals. The fish is cooked fresh to order, and the portions are very generous. The staff are very friendly and there is car parking right outside the shop. We will definitely be back, highly recommended.
