Sage Diner

It's in Delaware so it's more of a restaurant than a typical diner you would find in New Jersey but that doesn't stop it from serving great diner food. Great service as soon as you enter. We'll prepared food just as ordered. I stopped by for a quick breakfast and ordered a bacon and cheese omelet with well done home fries. It was perfect. Tender omelet and crispy home fries and a side of sausage. Just what I ordered. Prices are average and food above average so stop by for a bite!

Visited: Friday - May 6, 2022 - 12:20PM The diner was virtually empty. I was seated within a reasonable time. Within 10 minutes, the diner was nearly full. I waited about five minutes when the man that seated me, asked what I wanted to drink. I replied black coffee and orange juice - and was ready to order. He said that the server would handle the order. I waited another seven minutes, until the same man asked what I’d like to eat. I responded accordingly. Ten minutes elapsed and the food was finally delivered by the same man. I asked the man if he was the owner. He quickly responded - yes! I said it appears that he needed more servers. He responded with the now classic - “Nobody wants to work.” I jokingly responded that he was the best owner/server I ever had. He laughed and cheerfully repeated what I said to an employee. The food was good - nothing exceptional. I asked and received the bill from the owner/server. The cashier admitted they were not prepared for the crush of patrons. Although no server took my order, I gave my tip to the one most prominent server in the diner. She hugged and thanked me and immediately returned to work.

Only have been there once. Definitely will be back. Had breakfast and everything to the coffee was perfect. Golden brown potatoes, mushroom omelet with cheese, a pound of crunchy think bacon, 3/4 inch slice of scrapple, and an English muffin already buttered. The breakfast spoke volumes can't wait to go back.

Waitress was horrible, my wife said good morning and the waitress ignored her and walked right past her. The waitress handed my wife menus and told her us to go sit down. Her attitude was horrible the whole time and she was very inattentive. After finishing our meals we waited over 20 minutes for the check so I told my wife to go sit in the car with the kids while I wait for the check. About 5 minutes later she noticed I was sitting alone staring at her so she finally brought the check. Food was okay hospitality was the worst of any diner I've been to.
