Beach Cafe

We have seen their upbeat posts on social media and received mix feedback from colleagues and friends. We thought why not try them out and decide for ourselves. I always say reviewing food is tricky. As everyones tastebud is different what's good for me is not necessarily good for someone else. We went to the Whyalla Beach Bar on the Mothers day. The location is perfect. And the perfection ends there, with the location... We ordered 3 items at 1.21pm. I remember the time as I was asking one of the girls behind the counter that we booked at 1.30 but a few minutes early. We got served at 2.37pm. One hour and 16 minutes wait. Despite being Mothers Day the place wasn't that busy and there are plenty of tables around. We thought the wait was somewhat ridiculous!! Now the food. Schnitzel itself was nice, but chips are were tasteless. I like chunky fat chips. But these ones you find in the cheap corner delis. Supermarket coleslaw has more flavour than what we got there with our Fish and Chips. Fish itself was less than average, definitely don't worth that price. Nacho was presented really well, but tasted pretty poor. All in all super long wait and average food. In my view it's not a good value for money. I give two stars purely for the location.

Coming from Adelaide not what I expected, very highly overpriced for what it is. As we thought it was a fish and chip shop on the fore shore front. Left disappointed, As we left spoke to a local police officer asked wheres the best fish and chip shop in town as we thoughts that's what it was, He said it use to be a fish and chip shop and used to be really good untill they changed hands and new owners and management. Best fish and chips is bottle and Bird chips.
