Pho & Roll

Extremely poor customer service from a female server/manager. Every time I've eaten here and get the female server, it is an awful experience. Everyone else is cool and the food is good but today was the last straw. Don't know if she was having a bad day or what but I will definitely not be returning. Watch out, if she thinks you're not tipping well, she'll definitely retaliate. Apparently she doesn't comprehend the amount of the gratuity depends on the quality of service provided. Someone should explain this to her.

I went in for a pho and roll lunch special. It being my first time there I did not know what to expect. I asked for a menu and I found the picture of the pho. I ordered a rare steak pho and a shrimp pho. I was charged 27 dollars. and was asked to wait 15 minutes. When I came in to pick up my order I noticed the way it was packaged it did not seem like there was a soup inside. I opened up the bag and noticed that it was a salad with noodles and shrimp with peanuts. Add the other box had salad noodles and beef. I went back in to let the waitress know that my order was wrong. She said ‘that is what you ordered. I told her I ordered the picture on the menu. I got a menu and I opened it and pointed to where I had pointed earlier when I ordered. She said that I did not point to that. She went on and on about me ordering from a different part of the menu. I told her I did not. I ordered from the picture of a bowl of soup. She was frazzled and didn’t know what to do she walked back-and-forth talking to other employees. Then she told me what she could do is give me the soup in a container and just to add the salad looking stuff into the hot soup. ( I don’t know how she thought that I was going to put lettuce and carrots into the hot soup.) I said the steak has to be rare to be put in the soup not cooked like it is in the salad. She went on to walk back-and-forth and asked me to sit down. Then she explain to me how she was Fixing the problem and told me that next time to order it another way. I tapped her on the shoulder and said goodbye’ and I took my order and left. When I got home I rated the pho. My daughter enjoyed the rare steak pho. I on the other hand have had better. Whittier pho and Rowland pho are much better. Sorry guys I tried and didn’t have a good experience.

The food was tasty (presentation 3 out of 5) 🍣 The drinks were good 🍺👌🏽 This place was clean 👍🏽 The service was slow. 👎🏽 Well think I want to point out is that our first server seemed a bit rude and overworked. My water wasn’t refilled until I had asked towards the end. (probably should’ve been more vocal about it) they seemed a bit understaffed. Our bill was over $100 so at that price point I would expect better service. They would get one more star (possibly two) if their service and food presentation improved. I would give this place one more try.

Ordered online. Went to pick up my order 15 min after stated time. Food not ready upon arrival. Waiting another 25min total of 40min after they said my food would be ready. Also they don't provide plastic containers for Wasabi and soy sauce so I had to find another way to dip my sushi. Food is good, but they have horrible service!

If you absolutely need a PHO fix but aren't too particular then PHO & ROLL is your spot. I tend to be critical about the broth because that is the main character of any PHO. The broth here is bland and the meat to noodle portion is limited and leaves you feeling short changed. On the other hand, the sushi selection is varied and extensive. Sushi at PHO & ROLL is a winner and good. Portions are good and presentation is on point. Service is prompt and friendly so the experience makes up where some things fall short. Overall PHO & ROLL is a good place for your fix if you are not too picky 😎

If you are a local Whittier native or just someone stumbling across this review, I highly HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. Given these trying times, my wife and I have been waiting for the right time to get back out and dine in public. We stopped by Pho & Roll this week and they have a lovely Al Fresco dining experience. Fenced in, and Asian inspired, this new adaptation to safe and sanitary dining is a breath of fresh air. Literally. It was a lovely first date in a while with my beautiful wife. Thanks Pho & Roll!
