This hospital has no compassion for the mental health of the patients here. I realize that they are trying to protect their staff and patients. However I do not feel that it is right to penalize the patients or their loved ones. When someone is hospitalized mental health should be as great a concern as physical health! I feel that forcing one parent to wait in a waiting room while the other goes to see their child and then alternating is not only uncalled for but is inhuman. Especially when they are not in a critical care unit. I hope that I never need the services of this hospital. However I must admit that the staff here go out of their way to make the patients and their visitors feel welcome and cared for!

I’ve only been to this hospital for inpatient rehab after contracting Covid and being intubated for 19 days. I woke up almost completely paralyzed. This place had me at almost full mobility in 4 weeks. The nursing staff was so short handed and completely overworked. However they were so professional and handled all my needs. I don’t know how the did it. Dr C and all her therapist in my opinion are the best in their field. If I ever needed inpatient rehab again I would never choose another place. The nursing staff and nursing practitioners really make a human connection with the patients. One NP even prayed with me. I couldn’t imagine going to another facility. Hands down the best inpatient rehab in the area. Even the security was super helpful. My wife(who was not able to come to the room due to Covid precaution) loved them. She would drop off clean clothes for me and they would deliver them and pick up my dirty ones to deliver back to her. They would even bring food I ordered up to me because they knew the nursing staff was super busy. I wish I could remember all the staffs name while I was there so I could thank them personally. I hope whoever reads this passes the message on to all of them that they are a credit to their profession. Also Gale ( who’s name I do remember) the social worker made all of our paperwork issues a breeze.

If I could give this place a zero star I would. It still completely amazes me how unproductive this children’s ER is. To top it off rude and unprofessional. I was their Friday night with a baby who was running a fever of 105. As I see all these people waiting and I realized I wasn’t going to get services any time soon I left the facility. Why? Because all the nurses in the triage room just sitting around doing nothing while you have sick babies in the waiting room. Palms West hospital fast tracked my baby to a room and got the care she needed. Never again will I be going back to this ER.

Completely crushed me and my view of hospitals. I was treated like a thing and would advise everyone to steer clear of this facility. After waiting 2.5 hours in extreme pain due to torn hamstring, Nurse Sally was very rude, raising her voice at me, showed no compassion and belittled me for fun. Not acceptable in any line of work and very inappropriate when dealing with individuals at there lowest. So disappointed this is a "hospital". While in the waiting room was approached by Kirby Edge who informed me I won't receive pain management or any diagnosis but still wanted to run my insurance and bombard me with test...? For what if I'm not to receive any treatment or diagnosis? I didn't know this was legal or even possible. When Kirby Edge was done telling me they wanted me there for several more hours, run my insurance, acquire new charges, he was also lacking any sympathy and was standoffish. Less than 1 minute later Kirby Edge and Sally passed one another in front of the bathroom in the ER waiting room, 15 feet away from where I was seated. Sally with a mischievous smile thanks Kirby Edge and proceeds to gleam at me with satisfaction I was denied medical help. My pain is unbearable and haven't received any help over a week later. I can't work, enjoy life and am breaking down daily in pain. Never in my life did I think I'd have to find pain pills illegally but have no choice if I'd like relief from this excruciating pain. Have not been in so much pain my entire life. If you managed to read all of this, please, go somewhere else. I now hate hospitals, tho once an advocate. This location should be shut down, very least have a standard for there staff to follow. I am always respectful no matter my situation or pain level unlike the staff at this location. If you want to feel like a thing, look no further. You will not be given an iota of respect here. Receptionist Kenya was caring, asked if I needed a wheelchair and did as trained. I wouldn't have made it through the 2.5 hours without her compassion. I'd advise her approach be the standard or at least what others could attempt to replicate. Sally and Kirby are going to get sued for there actions and can not believe such obvious instances are overlooked. I could not be more disappointed in a "hospital". Shame on you St Mary's "hospital". Absolute joke but a sad one.

One word! Horrible! First & last time I will ever set foot in this facility ever again & if I can discourage anyone from going to that "so called," "award winning" hospital I will. What awards I might ask? The worst experience in my 66 yrs of life. Almost 6 hrs ltr, multiple tests, shift changes etc....rude,.uncaring staff, from nurses to Nurse Practitioner. I live almost within walking distance to Good Samaritan hospital, but understood this hosp was one of the best for heart issues. Never again!!! If I could give minus stars, I would! If you want caring, compassionate medical care, DO NOT Go to this hospital.

I have gotten the coronavirus my next and only step was to go to the nearest hospital to seek medical care. I was then taken care of by this fabulous and most awesome/loving nurse Carmen Reid. She took care of my every need and you could tell she didn’t sigh or snicker like some other nurses do. I hope this review doesn’t fall on deaf ears cause she certainly deserves more than a pat on the back, she is the type of nurse that holds the standards of what a nurse should be today . Thank you Carmen for all you do.

My daughter was admitted on Sunday night with gallstones. St. Mary's transferred her to Jefferson on Wednesday for an Endoscopy and brought her back. They didn't remove her severely inflamed gallbladder until Friday. They blame short staff but if you saw how they treat their staff you would understand why they are short-handed. When I posted on social media I was flooded with horror stories about "Scary Marys", Bloody Mary's I hope I never have to go to this place again. Her doctor was very good. Dr. Barton did everything to move things along but hit walls at every turn.

I'm here currently. I'm more than aware of the staffing issue, but there is Absolutely no reason to leave someone with no food for 8-10hrs at a time. My lunch tray, which I just received was not delivered because of "Covid precautions", I'm not here for Covid and tested negative. I'm laying in my room in extremely uncomfortable pain due to Pneumonia, and hungry to the point of crying on both accounts. I've called the nursing desk twice but I guess the 4 of them can't help me, and just keep saying my nurse is with another patient. Just let me go home if I have to suffer through the pain and hunger.
