Burma Unique

My first time trying Burmese food- I liked it!!! I attended a work Christmas dinner here last night and it was a really fun experience. I don’t usually try new or exotic food, but I liked everything we ordered. Great spot for a large group! We had so many different dishes. I was a little suspicious of this salad since fermented tea leaf sounds so different, but I am glad I tried it. Yummy food and good service! The place was packed on a Saturday night and I’m sure the staff was overwhelmed but they never showed it.

The service was exceptional. Friendly, helpful and attentive. The atmosphere is very nice. The food was good and the price reasonable. We had rainbow noodle salad, lamb red curry stew and Iemon grass chicken. They were all very good and more than we could finish. The wines are a little pricey. I will go back again

Great experience with our work holiday dinner! There were 3 tables of 8, and the restaurant reserved the back section for us. Everything went smoothly, and the food was delicious. We ordered 13 dishes for each table ahead of time, and the kitchen had everything prepared and brought out to us at a good pace. I highly recommend this spot if you’re planning a group event. It was affordable and tasty and a festive atmosphere. The restaurant was packed on a Saturday night, but we never felt lacking in service or attention. Full bar too for those seeking adult beverages.

This was my first time here. The flavors are authentically Burmese. The lunch menu contains a wide variety of rice plates, so you are bound to find something that suits your palate. The dinner menu has family style dishes that are meant to be shared. Since we were here for lunch, we ordered three rice plates: House Special Beef Curry, Sesame Beef, and the Chicken Crisp rice plates along with the Tea Leaf Salad to share, one of my favorite Burmese dishes. Everything arrived quickly, and was just as we ordered. The rice plates include a small bowl of soup and jasmine rice, although for an extra charge, you can substitute brown rice. The flavors were good with all our dishes and the salad was excellent!

We thought we would try this place, because we eat st a Burmese restaurant once a month in SF. So we wanted to compare. We ordered the tea leaf salad, coconut rice and tofu with veggies. To our delight, the food here was wonderful, and tasty. The place is roomy, and the black linen tables are roomy. We recommend this place if you want to try a Burmese restaurant in the area.

Our first time here and it was fantastic! The food was delicious, and the presentation was done as if it was a much more upscale restaurant. They have a complete gluten free menu, as well. The service was impeccable and friendly, and no language barrier at all, if that's something that worries you. The decor is clean and uplifting, and the tables have good spacing. The prices are very reasonable compared to the atmosphere, the service, and the food. We'll definitely be back! UPDATE 9/13/2019 - We've eaten here twice now and it's such a better experience than Burma 2 and Torsap Tai. We wanted to try one of the new places last Friday night so went to Burma 2, but it was just too loud with people drinking, and very off-atmosphere pop music, so we left. We went to Torsap Tai and they had no host at the entrance, we waited at least 10 minutes to even be greeted, a few more to be seated, and then another 10 before a waiter came to even greet us. Plus the menu prices were just as high as Osha Tai at Embarcadero Center in SF (prime tourist territory), so we apologized and left. We ended up at Burma Unique, which we knew we loved last time we were there. Much quieter atmosphere, great service, great prices, and delicious food. And we could actually hear each other while we ate, imagine THAT! Plus they have a 40% off dinner promotion right now to attract new business!

Came in for a late lunch, like 30 minutes before they were scheduled to close. We were greeted and sat quickly. The sever was kind and we didn't feel any pressure about being there so late. We ordered the tea salad, the string beans, the Shan Kawt noodles, and Burmese tea. All of the dishes were tasty, fresh, well-seasoned and beautiful. I've been to Burmese food elsewhere in the Bay, and this is the top for me, so far. I hear Burma Superstar is the best, but I have yet to go. Can't wait to come back and try more things.
