This was our last meal on vacation and probably our best. The service was too notch and the food was outstanding. It was Father's day so they were busy but everything went really well. Everyone I was with all thought this was the best meal of the whole vacation. If you are in the area definitely stop by here for good BBQ. The inside doesn't have the look of a BBQ place but don't let it fool you, this place is amazing!!

St Louis Ribs > Dry and tasted like they had been cooked yesterday
French fries> Soggy tasted undercooked.
I have been a customer since the 1990's, move away and happen to be in the area. When I arrive home about 30 minutes later. I reheated the ribs and fries under the broiler for a few minutes. I was debating 3-4 stars. I was very disappointed.

This restaurant is a classic part of Walnut Creek and one of the only Hick’ry Pits left in the whole SF Bay Area. It carries on the traditions of its’ founder, Emil Villa.
The food is fresh, tasty and very good. Let’s face it, it’s lots of meat, mashed potatoes, corn, baked beans and food of that nature. It’s very tasty and the price is reasonable considering they give you decent portions.
They still make great pies of many flavors and types as well.

We usually order the St. Louis style ribs. They are excellent. Great dry rub, good amount of smoke, just the right tenderness. They're ribs seem to be better than the similar Hickory Pit in Livermore.

Never disappoints! Didn't know what to expect with outdoor dining and covid asjustments. Food was fresher than ever, service impeccable and our holiday pies to go, on point!! I love this tradition
