Fireside Grill

Lovely setting, huge menu, professional service. The venue is really very good, inside and out. The food is dependable, there’s definitely something for everyone. They accommodate groups and have ample parking on the beautiful property. I’ve had their tuna poke bowl before, and it was excellent, really very delicious and healthy. The Tuna-wonton chip appetizer is really creative, and their butternut squash soup is a winner. Recently, I tried a Lobster & Prawn Roll, which I would not order again. The lobster was not good texture and salty, but what should I expect for $25 - my bad. The flavourings were great though, maybe better done with nice plump, Argentine shrimp - I would have that over and over. It’s a nice small portion size, good for ladies lunch or for sharing when couples go out.

Great evening at a beautiful venue, excellent service. The poke bowl had beautiful presentation and excellent flavours...but it was on a bed of semi-shredded cabbage (rather than rice) with an overly crispy rice patty that was difficult to eat; replace the green cabbage with cooked rice and the crispy rice with edamame and it would be perfection. The lamb ragu pasta was tasty, but there was a lot of oil left at the bottom of the bowl. Also, odd that the wine list is on the back of the large laminated menu - better to have it separate, with wines by the glass included. Could be awesome, just need a few tweaks!

Our server was outstanding and we appreciated her offering to top up our glasses and bringing fresh cutlery for the second course. We had a bottle of the OKV house red and it was great even though it was 2021 vintage. We we’re pleasantly surprised. We shared the fixed price menu with appetizer, entree and dessert. Everything we tried was excellent except my cabbage entree which seemed undercooked. It was cooked al denté and so it was challenging to cut with my dinner knife (like a butter knife). Also it was just warm and I thought it would have benefited greatly from being served warmer or hot and more cooked than less. We stop by here occasionally, but this is the first time I’ve taken the time to photograph our plates before diving in!

I went to fireside grill for an early dinner at 4:00 p.m. It was Thanksgiving dinner and when I phoned they weren't able to take a reservation they were all booked up. Upon arriving we were seated immediately. Such great service for not having a reservation. Very very delicious appetizer it was a prawn dynamite roll's, it was absolutely delicious and I could not wait for the Thanksgiving dinner. The presentation of the meal was exhilarating and very decorative, the food was amazing with lots of great flavor. There was only one item missing to pair with this meal, there was no dinner roll or even a Yorkshire pudding. Definitely something if I was the chef that I would have had included in the meal. Ended up having dessert which was pumpkin pie and was enjoyable. I will go back to Fireside grill.
