Came here with a Groupon voucher. Won’t lie, prices normally were way outside what I would spend usually, so thankful for the voucher. Gotta say, the butter chicken and the garlic naan? Winning combination right there. Can’t go wrong with it. There’s a bit for everyone, so if you’re up for trying something new, go ahead!

We eat here all the time and the food is the best Indian we've tried in Sydney. We love supporting local businesses and we have found The Colonial to offer and excellent range of menu options and an easy ordering system online. Highly recommend giving this one a try! 5 stars for service too!!

We enjoyed the whole experience (Groupon voucher)and front-of-house Sabin really looked after us. The curries we selected (British Fish curry and a Lamb Bhuna) were super flavoursome and completely different. The fresh naan breads out of the tandoor oven were great, the entree platter was spicy. Ambience very pleasant. Altogether a great deal and we highly recommend the experience.

DO NOT BUY - takes your money, doesn't deliver as promised and won't refund. Ordered delivery, after waiting an hour and a half I called the restaurant for an update and they advised it would be another 15-20 minutes. The driver eventually attempted to call my partners phone which we did not see in time, and when calling back the call would not connect. The driver did not ring the door bell at all and just took the food back to the restaurant. It had become 2 hours total by the time I called the restaurant who advised the order was being cancelled, and we would have to call their managers mobile to receive a refund as there were no managers working. Edit 1: After many calls, the manager eventually called back and offered a refund + assistance in future. I feel bad for being angry at the girl answering the phone (sorry I acted out in my hanger) but the owner shouldn’t leave their business open to do deliveries with no drivers, and no shift manager on. Order at your own risk. Edit 2: Please note - if you have any issues with this business you will not get your money back or any responses and will have to lodge a dispute with your bank. I strongly recommend going elsewhere. No quality of food is worth service this bad.

I tried the railway goat curry ($25.9) with garlic naan ($4). Loved the curry - it was fiery (chose less spicy, but even that had me breaking a good sweat) but loved the rich flavour (browned onions, ginger, garlic, black cardamom and cassia bark). The goat is on the bone, juicy and tender. Even scored a nice big bone with bone marrow to be sucked out. The naan was warm, soft and fluffy. Definitely on the pricey side, but great food, comfy seating and you'll be well-looked after by the staff. IG: @shazlikesponies
