Little Hunan Restaurant

It was quite a pain waiting for food to come as we went during off peak. Can't deny this restaurant has a nice decor but from other reviews it seems like a filthy place to dine, I reckon that's accurate after a visit. Service from staff was mehhhhh... Food was mehhh. Not much choices on menu for non spicy food eater. The only saver was this dish but I had to smash it with a wooden rod provided, I could only pray they have washed it well...

If you want service and a great experience don't come to this restaurant... it was absolutely terrible and disorganised. We had to forcefully asked to get service and waited 30 minutes for a drink. No water provided and staff were not pleasant. In their defence they only had 3 people on the floor... but even so, we had to get out of my chair to hunt them down for service numerous times. We eventually got our food after 50 minutes and they come out 1 by 15 minutes each... totalling 1 hour plus, worst part was the food was very mediocre especially the smoked chicken.. over salted and taste like it was microwaved. Overall disappointing experience and we won't be back.

I faced a dilemma over the weekend when the heavens decided to pour all the rain it accumulated down in Sydney. That is to cancel or soldier on and enjoy a Little Hunan feast at Haymarket. I decided to go, obviously. Is this feast worth braving the storm? Hell yes!!! I would do it again. I love their popcorn chicken and their stir-fried pork intestines got me wanting for more. The sizzling clams were pretty tasty and I would order that again. That sauce 🤤 @littlehunansyd asked that I try the pan-seared barramundi topped with special Hunan chilli sauce. Don’t be intimidated, I handled the spice really well so wouldn’t call it spicy. I very much enjoyed that.
