Royal Oak Pizza

Very much enjoyable dinner last night here at the Royal Oak Restaurant. The service was awesome, with our service being super nice and friendly, along with delicious food. We had a few appetizers and either the calamari or sautéed mushrooms being the best. Freshly friend calamari was tender and crispy batter. Mushrooms were also tender and has a ton of bite to them, a lot of flavor as well. We also had the garlic prawn appy which was not too bad. Prawns were decently flavoured and tender too. I think the pita bread could definitely be improved. Might come down to preferences but, would rather have a soft pita bread. Pita bread also did not seem as fresh as other items. Mains were awesome. Had the roast lamb (can't really go wrong here). Fall of the bone tender and tons of flavor from all the spices. The dish came with rich, salad and roast potatoes. Fairly large portion. I thunk the fav would have to be the chocolate torte for dessert. Loved the sponge cake here along with the chocolate sauce all over. The cake base was just the perfect level of spongy-ness for me and was also not overly too sweet. Loved it. We also tried their baklava which was pretty good. Generally not my kind if dessert tho.

I thought at first was good but the quality of the food is terrible considering it's a Greek Restaurant. I ordered Calamari dinner ,seafood pasta and it was absolutely fail. Calamari was soaking in oil ,pasta was just nothing but cream very bland . My son said that it was a terrible meal. Again after 6 months later craving for pasta I have no choice ordered same pasta but sadly, the cook doesn't seem to understand or see what they're offering to customers, the pasta taste like nothing. My 10 year old daughter can cook better than guys. Never going back to this restaurant . I recommend other Greek Restaurant ..

Not very good dining experience considering it was my son's birthday. We didn't feel a welcoming vibe considering the food taste just a little more ordinary. Most of the people there were seniors from the old world speaking their languages. Middle aged men behind the counter we're not on a smiling mood but look angry and seems a bit racist with attitude. This restaurant is old and smells. Our waitress though was nice and decent. Not coming back.

Review is based on takeout experience. Food was ordered over the phone, and was ready for pickup at the agreed upon time. Everything was hot and fresh (or cold where applicable, like salads). Prices are good, and the portions are generous. The food is well cooked. The lamb shoulder was excellent - moist and well prepared. Tzatziki is great, and the pita was nice and fluffy. The place was busy inside, seemed to have a nice neighborhood pub vibe to it, with folks having a drink and watching the game when I stopped in to pickup the order. Definitely recommended if you're looking for good Greek food in the Fleetwood area.

I used to eat here once a week. I have experienced horrible vibes from the owners based on pure discrimination. I have even had several employees tell me their own horror stories about being discriminated against. These people will never get my money again. Also, the quality of food has become extremely poor over time.
