Cafe Nu

Cozy place by the harbour for coffee and snacks. It's adjacent and part of the harbour hostel. The interior is certainly retro. But I kinda dig it. It gave the place a kind of warmth that you wouldn't find in a modern, minimalist coffee shop. Kind of felt like I was going around to grandma's for tea. While it's 5 stars for ambience, I think the food is overpriced, but what thing in Iceland isn't? I got a small capucinno and a quiche for 2100 kr-about 22 CAD. Bottomline - go here if you want to take refuge in a cozy place from the sometimes harsh Icelandic weather. You may not want to leave :)

(Upprunalegt) Süßes, kleines und stilvoll eingerichtetes Café inmitten des idyllischen Ortes Stykkishólmur. Wir wurden herzlich empfangen und auch mit dem Cappuccino nicht enttäuscht. Wenn man das kleine Örtchen besucht, sollte man dort einkehren. Top!

Worth a stop for coffee loverys, they serve Reykjavik Roaster beans and a variety of brewing methods. Great homemade pastry... We tried the banana bread and loved it. Glad to find it!
