My bestie recommended I meet her here for dinner, she ordered everything and I demolished the plates.
We consumed a soup that was not on the menu, a rice noodle dish and salt and pepper tofu. A favourite is always S&P Tofu but the soup took the cup. I do not know the names of the soup and noodle dishes, so refer to the photos :)

Get asked after we sat down and ready to order that whether we have booking or not. If fhey didnt allow us in the first place we woulda understand. Felt rushed to order and eat quickly. Staffs were very rude to us. Constantly have to ask for bowls, chopsticks and spoon. Have to ask for food and drinks several times. Took 30 mins for a drink.
Shame as the food r quite nice. If u couldnt full fill the booking maybe try to manage the walk in first?

Meat only cooked toward the centre, would’ve been better if the grill was wider. The service was below average, we had to ask for forks and took me ages to get someone’s attention to get a glass for water cause the food was so spicy.
Also the restaurant was so full of smoke that my eyes were irritated, might be an idea to install exhaust fans for the restaurant not just for the BBQ’s!!

Our first time here so we didn’t know what to get but they suggested the banquets. It was a good bbq choice, they also help cook and cut the meat for you which u won’t find at the Korean BBQ places in the city.
I was full halfway through it. We tipped our attendees but he was awkward with it lol

On the expensive side but the meat was delicious and love the lemongrass sauce and try the spicy sauce. Just keep an eye or two on the flame so they don't burn the good meat. Be careful not to order too much, but you can always takeaway. I would recommend coming here. We spent approximately $260 for 4 adults.

arrived at phi phi 2 on a busy saturday night and was greeted by a worker whom had told us that we could only sit on the tables that didn’t have the bbq equipment as the restaurant was busy. This was fine by us, however the worker was very rude and passive aggressive towards us; first he had told us to look at the menus without actually giving us the menus, and then i looked at him seeing as a group of people were leaving and was about to ask him if we could sit on the table, however he had interrupted me and had aggressively told me to “wait”. Overall the food was really good, but service was poor.

Rated 4.5<br/>Hubby promised me he would take me to PhiPhi2 for a great Bun Cha Hanoi dish and he delivered! It’s hard to find a good place that service this delicious dish after having one of the best bowl in Hanoi a few years back at this lil joint in an alley way… but the Charcoal grilled pork and meatballs mixed with vermicelli, Vietnamese salad, mints, and fish sauce here was still very tasty and presented beautifully. The Hanoi spring-roll was crispy and the meat had so much flavours MmM!

What a wonderful happy place! The staff are so lovely, helpful with the menu and very welcoming! The food is fantastic, Korean BBQ is the best I’ve had! The prices are really reasonable and can order plenty of food and not wind up with a big bill. Most of all the service & atmosphere was exceptional. A hidden gem in the heart of St Albans. We booked a dinner here for 14 people for family gathering. Waiting for the rest of the group to arrive. Restaurant is EMPTY as we are the first group to arrive. Manager came in and told us we have to move table as they had booked a bigger group to sit on the table we are sitting for 20 mins. We got told she is the Manager of the restaurant and we have to move to 2 seperate tables. We are dining with 6 kids and want to sit together so we ended up standing as we are trying to share food from one table to another as they set bbq on 1 table and soup on opposite table. WORSE Dinner ever!!! Will never come back!!! Ended up total bill $350 for passing bbq/soup to next table rather than having comfortable dinner.

I really love this place. Their food and staffs are amazing. However I read some review complains the price is high. Actually, it's not right. There are just some premium meat like wagyu is more expensive, but the quality of meat is perfect. So if you don't want to pay much, I reckon that you can order other kinds of meat like pork belly or chicken.

I am so in love with their thai sauce oyster and green papaya salad it so good that I must order two to three serve everytime I go there. I don't really like their bbq, the meat quality is okay but not the best for the price and the dipping sauce was not my taste at all. If someone likes lemongrass and tamarind then you will love their sauces. The music is so loud I find it a bit noisy but will definitely go back for the oyster and salad.

Amazing food, especially if you are into grilled meats. We ordered grilled chicken with rice and we really enjoyed the dish, apart from the super burnt skin. Another dish that we ordered, vermicelli with grilled pork was decorated nicely as you can see in the picture, and it tasted great too. I think that they choose the right type of meat to be grilled, i.e. the one with enough skins and fat. Sure it's not healthy, but they tasted amazing. Their mocktail on the other hand was just all right. It's almost like syrup drink that you can make at home. This place is also decorated well, unlike other Vietnamese restaurants in the area, this place seems to invest quite a bit in the interior design, resulting in quite a modern looking bar. If you haven't been here, you should give it a try.

Had no intention of eating here but walking past and hearing the music coming from up the stairs was too cool to pass up. I used to like their spicy chicken ribs but when I was there right after the 40 degree day and ordered an hainanese chicken rice, they served me a plate of rancid chicken. I complained, and I got another plate of rancid chicken. It smelled so bad that as a chef, I guarantee anyone can get sick from that. The waitress asked me to change my order so I ordered roast duck rice which has never come. The whole story was very sad I had only bread for lunch at the end.

Very expensive. We bought the rice paper rolls grilled variation. We bought 4 servings as minimum and it served 2 people and 1 child. Also the $25 for two people is not realistic. It was $28 per person. On the banquet menus it was $25 plus per person.<br/><br/>It tasted good but if you are Vietnamese it is not something special. It just tastes like home food

First off, this place is not to be mistaken for authentic Korean cuisine. It's Vietnamese-Korean fusion. The flavours are predominantly Vietnamese like the marinades, curries etc. but set up in a Korean BBQ setting. Satisfies your BBQ fix but appeals to the palettes of locals here. The price is very reasonable and servings are generous. The service is really great here, even though the waiters look a bit stressed sometimes they are very polite and eager to please. Waiters are English speaking and explain everything to you. I would definitely come back seeing as it's so close to home.<br/><br/>Edit: Came here a second time. The workers really need to calm down. Please stop with the yelling. It kinda ruins the atmosphere.

Went first time today form my friend's recommendation. Food was very nice with many choices. Food was bit of fusion style of mixture of Asian, mainly Vietnamese and Korean. I tried BBQ with pork belly, wagyu and prawn. All the dishes are very nice. All the staff, manager was friendly, greeting warmly and nice. Especially, Andrew was super friendly and professional. He explained us how to eat, sauce, food, beverages and looked after us very well. Also , using good charcoal.Main attraction was close to were I live and interior also modern ( not as you experience as other Vietnamese restaurant). Sometimes I felt unwelcome to go bar style restaurant with my kid but all the staff was kids friendly and table and seat also comfy and big. I will definitely go again.

A very busy and urban vibe to the restaurant. Great service from the staff as they frequently changed the grill to ensure that the meat wasn't too smokey. A great twist to the typical korean bbq as they added some of their own sauces but I personally don't find it as nice as the normal kbbq. The meat was slightly chewy and flavourless if they weren't dipped in sauce but I did enjoy the ox tongue (only). The scallops were really nice, interesting texture and complimented well with the mayo sauce. My parents thoroughly enjoyed the squid salad as it was packed with flavour. Desserts were very underwhelming - too sweet. If I were to come back, it would probably only be for the entrees. Also, not sure if it's worth the price - quite expensive.

We had a fun and delicious experience at Phi phi 2! This was our third time there but first time for dinner. The manager was happy to go through the menu for a group of us and tailor it perfectly to what we like! We also trusted her recommendations and they didn't disappoint! We loved the lobster tails, crab spring rolls, BBQ pork ribs in a Thai dressing as well as the cocktails that were very reasonably priced! Our meat and vegetables were cooked in front of us on charcoal grill and we could also turn and BBQ ourselves! Staff are attentive and friendly! We will be back 🙌🏼

I don't know what it is officially but I would consider it Vietnamese Korean fusion. Very tasty. Must try the tamarind pippies if you go. Dipping sauces are also great. A little pricey for St Albans but has great service that you wouldn't expect in that suburb also. Definitely pulling in a younger crowd for the area. Good work.

Oyster papaya salad is to die for. If you love grill you'll enjoy this place. If you want to take someone out for a shabu shabu, this restaurant must be one in your 1st list. Servers extend by cooking your meal in 'charcoal' grill at your table. I would give 5⭐️ but you can't take your fave wine (not BYO). Average cost for dinner.

Went here for the BBQ. It isn't as good as the other BBQ places I have been too. It seems more smokey here however, the food was still good. A local place that was okay to go to. I know the staff are trying to help but I like cooking the meat by ourselves. We pay for the experience that is why you do the BBQ. It smelt as well entering this place coz they had wet rags on a trolley right next to the table. That was unpleasant. The cocktail I had was very nice though.

Tried to find for a Korean BBQ and this fusion BBQ shop showed up on my search. We decided to have a good. Located just nearby St Albion station, this place was a second floor restaurant with great ambiance. Love the fantastic service from the staffs. Food quality was great too. For our convenience, my friends and I went here for a birthday dinner rather than travel all the way to the city for "kbqq". We honestly should have travelled for the city.<br/>Phi Phi 2 is a really mediocre attempt at making Korean BBQ like dishes convenient. It cost us $130 for the 2nd Banquette set (actually turned out to be very small) a plate of 4 Scallops and a bottle of Soju. The only memorable piece of eat was the pork belly. The beef steaks were plain. The kimchi wasn't all that nice. The only really great thing was generous mushroom servings. I wish they had the original Korean BBQ sauce but this place is more Thai and Vietnamese inspired.<br/>If you come here, order our meats separately rather than one a banquet. It's cheaper. <br/>

Phi Phi 2 is a contemporary Asian Fusion barbeque restaurant that’s the first of it’s kind in St Albans. I’ve been keen to try it out when I heard of it, but it was quite popular at the beginning that you couldn’t just walk in. My siblings and I dropped by early as we were craving some legit charcoal grilled bbq.

Pretty good effort from these guys. However they should scale the chilliness of the beef salad as it was crazy hot! Even for me! Beef salad was great though.<br/><br/>The pork though was not tender and maybe need research in keeping it soft as it was not a good chewy. This place is really cool. Came here for dinner which was a Korean, Vietnamese fusion. Dinner options are limited to either a hot pot or grill (excluding entrees), we opted for the deluxe combo grill. There are 4 different banquets availible, all based on the amount of people you are dining with, but only up to 4 people, meaning if you have more than 4 people you have to do a bit of a MacGyver move. We dined with 6 people, so had a few add ons which was more than enough food. The grilling is done at the table and there is quite a bit of smoke but the overhead fan gets rid of most of it, the staff man the grill to take the pressure off you. <br/>My only issue was the icecream for desert. There were 5 or 6 flavours availible and a serve is 3 scoops, but for some reason you aren't allowed to mix and match.

Wow, the ambience of this place is hard to find in the westside. Being sick and tired of travelling to the city for korean BBQ, I had high hopes for PP2, one of the first BBQ places in the westside. Service was excellent, food even better. All the marinades were spot on, and the sauces complimenting very well with their recommendations. I'd have to say the Beef rib and pork belly in salt and chilli were my favourite. Very happy with my experience!

We had lunch at Phi Phi 2 today. I am not a huge fan on the dingy looking entrance, but I am very glad that i did not let that deter me. We had Vietnamese Iced Coffee ($4)- which was really strong, but that was a good thing as we were able to make the drink go further/ last longer by watering it down. We had the scallop toast ($7) to start, there were 2 scallops in the dish. Well cooked and the spiced mayonnaise was quite lovely. I then had prawn vermicelli- this was fresh and the prawns (5) were sweet. My dining partner had beef vermicelli- which was really interesting and tasty, the beef wrapped in vine leaves (like tiny dolmades). Interesting bar setup and would definitely recommend.

I came here many times with my family and friends. I feel happy and satisfy with their service and food. My favourite food are thai squid salad and fresh oysters with thai sauce for entrée. My favourite bbq are Ox tongue ,wagyu and roll beef with cheese. These food are so amazing when they come with dipping sauce. The staff here are nice and friendly. 4th time here, and still loving this place! To be honest, i am still waiting for something to go wrong, but they have constantly surprised me with their food, service and music. I don't usually write reviews, however, this restaurant definitely deserves my time in writing this review. <br/>As soon as you walk in, you are greeted with "WELCOME TO PHI PHI", which at the start scared me a little, but I've grown to love it and even join in to have a laugh.<br/>The staff are friendly and very helpful, food is exceptional and the music has got to be my favorite part of the experience. I came on a Friday night and they were playing old school rnb....a trip down memory lane!<br/>All and all, i have read some of the previous reviews and urge everyone to give it another go, as i am quite surprised at the experience that the other customers had? <br/>Thank you Phi Phi 2 for opening such a funky place in St Albans and keep up the good work!

Came here about a week or so ago as wanted to try a restaurant in St. Albans that we haven't been to for lunch. I was told that this place served Korean BBQ which was rather interesting as not sure if it would be authentic or not.<br/>So when we got in, there were no people at all and only the staff members, we were promptly sat down in one of their spacious booths. The place has a contemporary design that reminds me of a bar and Korean BBQ restaurant fusion. There was graffiti/painting on the walls and you could tell the whole place has been redone when it was bought out by a new owner.It's a very attractive place to the younger demographic, particularly for those in my generation with the large range of alcoholic drinks available, hip hop/rnb/rap music playing in the background and a menu with references to the Vietnamese language/food used by my generation. The place was rather dim and it was really cool with the air con up pretty high.<br/>So, on to the food, I ordered their Got BEEF?! Banh Burger with a Salad, and the others ordered Spicy mama (Bun bo hue) and Fish Bowl (Bun ca chien).The burger had black buns and two patties inside, which was really filling for me and a nice dish of salad with some tasty dressing. It was very average, burgers in general are nice, so I liked it, it was quite saucy as well - as it should be. I liked how they had a salad on the side, however it did make up for the lack of salad in the burger. The presentation was lovely to suit the restaurant interiors. The price makes up for the young ambiance of the restaurant as well as the food itself.<br/><br/>TLDR; Overall, lovely interior design with a focus on my generation (Gen Y), pretty okay food, bit pricier than other restaurants in the area but you're paying for the cool ambiance, customer service was good, but not exceptional with staff that were fairly friendly. I'd probably come back with friends for a dinner to try out the Korean BBQ and I'd recommend it to anyone who just wants to enjoy a nice casual meal with eye-catching aesthetics.

Really good Thai Beef Salad- Flavours were amazing. Staff were really great telling us how everything works and coming to check on the meat or seafood every 2 mins.<br/>Really enjoyed the chicken skewers.<br/>The meat however was however plain meat cooked on charcoal which was disappointing. It wasn't soaked in any marinade or have any amazing Asian flavours that the beef salad and chicken skewers had.<br/>The star of the night was the vanilla slice. Will definitely be back just for some of the slice!!!

Feeling a bit pekish and seeking flavour, quickly, so down we went to St.Albans looking for something to satisfy the want. Located on the very busy main food strip on Alfrieda Street, Phi Phi 2 came into view which was adjacent to the IGA car park. Parking here can be a bit crazy here so forking out a couple of golds for parking is worth the hassel of trying to find a park.<br/><br/>Newly revamped, Phi Phi 2 looks like it got a brush of style from a Y generation entrepreneur. Great space, well decorated and an up beat vibe which clearly aims to up the ante in the strips usual rough street look. The menu even got a sprinkle of graphic design too which was nice and also funny! Some really odd and somewhat tacky names that exploit the asian "engrish" language along with several innuendo.<br/><br/>We ordered the Duck Bao $8.0 for entrée which was deliciously soft, cloudy although wasn't as fluffy as most places and the duck was juicy which was nicely complimented by the house made sauce. For mains, Heo low can you go $12.0 a traditional Laos udon soup served Crispy Pork Belly. It was fresh and delicious but disappointed that the pork wasn't crispy at all. Also had the Spicy mama $12.0 a.k.a. Bùn Bó Huê a.k.a. Spicy beef noodle which the broth was pretty nice - tangy and well seasoned but could've done with a tad bit more spiciness. To wash it down, a coconut juice $4.0 which always hits the spot but was also annoyed at how much ice there was in the ridiculously tall glass which we've noticed the more modern restaurants are doing to save on the juice. Put the coconut juice in the fridge and serve it cold rather than stingeing out.<br/><br/>To finish off the meal, a vanilla slice and an sticky date pudding $12.0. Not bad and well presented but lacked flavour. Vanilla slice lacked sweetness and the sticky date was dry. Should've known better since it was a non traditional dessert.<br/><br/>Overall the experience wasn't bad at all although we'd much prefer the more traditional Phi Phi (1) across the road. It was Peppa Pig and A-Baby’s birthday so we decided to do a joint party and had dinner at Phi Phi 2. Phi Phi (the original one) is a Vietnamese eatery in St Albans and since they were popular, they decided to open a second store which consists of kbbq with with a Vietnamese twist to it. Peppa Pig’s mum made a booking at 5:30PM and we arrived and was seated at a big table.

Its a cold winters night - too lazy to cook and thought l'm in the mood for Korean bbq but seriously didnt want to drive into the city. Heard abt PP2 opening and thought ....why not try it, would be great to find a great new locale. Gotta say - i ❤️ the feeling when l entered... All the staff greeting you in-sync with 'welcome to phiphi' lol... Very cute! The wall designs were v unique and sexy, instantly putting me at ease. We had great service, Danny was really lovely and was constantly recommending food item - the oysters in thai sauce were my fav- I blame Danny for my baby bump on exiting. Dont forget to try the tiramisu - if ur a coffee lover - this is a must. So delish. Ok enough from me you will just have to judge for yourself. But for me -We will be back!

been here for the first time and we loved it. ^_^ i love their dipping sauces and marinating sauce - they have lovely entrees too (tried and loved their corn stirfry with dried shrimp). highly recommend trying out their bbq pork belly with salt and chillies marinate. ^_^ their hotpot is also yummy (we had the Thai soup hotpot). Their green rice is really tasty.

We came across and decided to eat our lunch at Phi Phi 2. <br/>At my first glance, the decoration is modern and the staff here are engaging and friendly, they explain us what the dishes ’re made of, how it tastes and also recommend us which dish should be mixed with another dish or with drink.<br/>We ordered a "chick on stick", a "dark nigh" burger, a salmon sack, a noodle fried with vegetable (I can’t remember exactly the name). The flavor of the “chick on stick” is so amazing, the chicken is crispy, golden on the outside and tenderness in the inside, the sauce compelling, and all the elements is harmony with each other. A “dark nigh” burger is so magnificent, the soft bun holds beef, Swiss cheese, onion, bacon, and sauces. The presentation is so beautiful as the burger, it is superb on a board with salted vegetable and golden chips. The noodle is full of flavor, the balance between ingredients in this noodle is excellent.<br/>I also ordered a sexy tropical drink. It is really fascinating to look at its presentation and it’s delicious too.<br/>Overall, Phi Phi 2 is a restaurant I'd like to return to, for its reasonable price but tasty dishes, impressive interior and attentive staffs.

Here's my take on pp2, "like the dessert miss the rain" phi phi 2, the long wait is now over :) you have bursted my bubble and I am left in awe and complete satisfaction! @_@ Most of us did not know what to expect and wanted to see what the hype was all about! In all honesty, pp2, you guys have truly exceeded our/my expectation, especially being located in St.Albans (no offense) but you have lived up to what you set out to achieve, bringing forth a place like no other in this side of town!<br/><br/>We were happily greeted by pp2 staffs as we reached the top of the stairs, we had made reservations for the evening so seating was quick and no hassle waiting around. We were presented some pretty cool menus to browse through both their dinner+drink menus (easy to understand and navigate)<br/><br/>We ordered a few entrees to start with, I suggest and highly recommend their "CRISPY TIGER PRAWNS & SEXY OYSTERS DRENCED IN SUPER THAI SAUCE" (it's not really called that, but that's how it tasted to me! lol) please don't take my word for it, try it for yourselves and make your own verdict!<br/><br/>We then ordered a Variety of meats, seafood & veggies for our BBQ grill. The sides came out first followed by 3 magical sauces (which i still don't know the name of) WOW! especially the "Green sauce" there is an essence of tang and sweetness... it will keep you pondering and guessing their secret ingredients, well done on the sauce guys! (we couldn't get enough of this, a reload is a must! trust me)<br/><br/>The hot grill came out short after our drinks arrived, the food was professionally prepared and served by their friendly staffs (Ron & Nathan) everything came out in a very good and timely manner, it's although they knew exactly when we were ready ^^<br/><br/>Overall, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their experience @ pp2. We will definitely be back to try out their other dishes. This is definitely a must try for everyone who's reading this and yet to try. It's not just for youngies, i'd even recommend my oldies to try this place out! In finishing my review, PP2 your services and promptness is exceptional high! Your staff are very friendly and professional! Your overall design and attention to detail, of the interior and exterior is very, very well thought out. I've dined here for dinner twice and lunch once since it's opening in June. Located in the western suburbs pp2 is the sister store to the first Phi Phi store which is across the street. It's completely different with it's Asian fusion style for lunch and charcoal bbq for dinner. The interior is great and I love the art work on the wall. For lunch my brother and I shared some starters and one main. My favourites would definitely be the scalloping bites, lamb ribs (seriously so tender and the flavour was bomb as), the F.OB which was pork belly and sushi together but not quite a basic sushi roll you'd expect. We had the linguine pasta and that was good too. I ordered a chai latte and I love how the flavour was strong as many places can taste quite diluted. <br/><br/>As for dinner my favourite would be the wagyu beef!! Something you definitely rarely see in the west with that marbling too. It was melt in the mouth, just amazing. For the entrees I tried the crispy scallops and the oysters with thai sauce (so good), for the chef's specials we had the ox tongue and chicken feet. I've never really been a fan of the chicken feet but the manager recommended this to us and she said it has been very popular. We decided to give it a try and I was not disappointed. The feet are grilled? and so the texture was not like the yumcha chicken feet I would usually avoid. The marinade on it was seriously so good, I was pretty surprised I actually really enjoyed them. We went for the banquet pork combo for 2 which had 3 types of pork and we could also choose another dish so we got the thai beef salad. You get three sauces with the bbq as well as a bunch of sides, my favourite sauce is the dark brown tamarind one with is sweet and sour. We had so much food we were absolutely stuffed. My favourite drinks would be the mocktails apple pie and stephanie's flambe, both really refreshing. <br/><br/>The service here is great and the waiters are really attentive. They help you cook the food and are always asking you how everything is. I would definitely be coming back for both lunch and dinner and it's a great place to catch up and eat with friends. I would recommend calling in and booking a table in advance as they do getting pretty packed especially for dinner on the weekends.

[LUNCH CRAWL] I have to say.. I use the word lunch crawl very loosely because what we had was more of a feast crawl. Don’t let the name and location fool you, if you’re after a plate of broken rice or a hot bowl of Pho you’ll be sorely disappointed.. but only for a moment. Having opened for barely a month, Phi Phi 2 is the cheeky sibling to it’s sister restaurant (Phi Phi) just opposite the other side of Alfreida Street, who is an institution in it’s own right.

Upon entering, there is a staircase on the side that leads up to the establishment, the atmosphere was very nice and you can tell it's been newly furnished. The interior is mostly wood but it was comfortable. This place serves a fusion of Asian and I'd dare say Korean 'style' bbq? Their marinade and sauces are a lot different to KBBQ, has a Vietnamese touch to it.<br/><br/>The place was absolutely packed to the rim when we arrived, with no booking, they sat us down after 10 minutes of waiting which was well worth the wait, I thought it'd take longer than that. We shared a table with other folk but the table was big enough to not worry about awkwardness or table space. <br/>The food is moderately priced although the wagyu you are paying a bit more than usual, but that being said, this is the ONLY place in the whole west side of Melbourne that offers this type of dishes. So there is no competition at all, this place makes a killing. The food is portioned quite well, particularly the BBQ menu. They are well priced and the food came out not long after ordering, the tab came to $80 for 2 people, which is not bad, you'd be paying similar in the city anyways. The only negative thing I can say is that the pork belly fat burns before it becomes crisp so you have to eat it while its gummy and chewy, perhaps less charcoal next time so it doesn't overcook the skin before it can become crisp. <br/>The Mocktail is INSANE. I recommend trying their Stephanie? (something, something) Mocktail, it has a zesty punch to it, it's the first one on the Mocktail menu.<br/><br/>The customer service is spectacular, it was so memorable that we even remembered our waiter, Danny, he served us and came back to the table every now and then to check up on us. We spoke to the manager, I think. She was very pleasant and we spoke about putting the establishment up on Zomato which she did the following day, which is today as I'm writing this review.<br/><br/>I would definitely revisit this place and introduce my friends to it. It's different to KBBQ but similar concept, Asian fusion BBQ is definitely worth trying. It was a fun experience and something new.
