An old English pub in the centre of town. To be honest, I've never been there outside of Pub in the Park. When I get there, the atmosphere is great as the place is absolutely packed out and conversations floe pretty easily. At the same time, the bar is packed and can take a long time to get served. I enjoy it but might not be what everyone else is looking for

This is a lovely old historic pub on the St Albans Highstreet. The building dates to around 1420 and serves some quality Taqueria Mexican fare. There is a good selection of Craft Beer and Real Ale, that was tasty and in good condition. Highly recommended for a visit when in St Albans.

A great pub in a prime location, and sitting out on the street in the sun is the perfect spot to watch the busy world go by. It feels like there’s a lot of history to the building and the atmosphere inside is nice too, but I have to say it is an expensive pub for drinks. Otherwise, great place!

This is where the Hairy Bikers stopped by, and so should I. Great location near the shops or bus stops for a freshen up to quench your thirst (and hunger - if hungry) There's seating outside so you can admire the Clock Tower if you want to reach the top on open days, or better still, come on down after climbing those steps to the Clock Tower. Definitely worth a stop by with friends and family too

Not bad at all. We went there for a beer dinner (good selection, including several cask ales on pumps). The Mexican menu looks a bit dodgy at first glance in a place so distinctly British, but it tastes actually very, very good. The only thing is that tacos alone is a small meal, while ordering tater tots as a side dish is suddenly too much :)

Nipped in for a late evening pint and meet discuss the work plan for the next day, the pub was very lively with chatter and we couldn't hear ourselves! But I guess that is actually a good thing as it is a pub and not a conference room 😂.
Beer was very nice, I had a lovely IPA.

Lovely pub, great atmosphere. Always cosy and good beers on. Friendly staff. Had the tacos yesterday and they were insanely good!

Good ale beers and the best location in St Albans.
The pub cannot pass unnoticed if you wander a little around this amazing town (very advisable, by the way).
This time we were lucky to get a table in the terrace, with views to The Clock Tower, once the sun showed up for a while in a stormy afternoon.
The staff is kind and fast, and the price reasonable. Next time we will check those tacos.
