Captain D's

The place was clean. Price was reasonable. Crab cakes were awesome and I didn't expect it to come in the shell. The hushpuppies were probably one of the best I ever had (which might not be saying much because I've only had hushpuppies a handful of times). They had more in them than just batter or cornmeal or whatever doughy stuff they use for hushpuppy batter. The water from the fountain that day trickled, and it was faster to ask for a cup to be filled from behind the counter. Their service is great at the counter. Bathroom and restaurant were clean. My husband loved that the green beans were made with ham. They did switch our sides up or our main platter up (whichever way you want to see it), but no biggie. The fries did not impress me and neither did the fried fish. It was the hushpuppies and the crab cakes that got me😍.

Haven't eaten captain d's in probably a decade, decided to eat here and not only was the food good, the customer service from Mrs. Joyce and the other lady whose name I didn't catch, was phenomenal. The dine in area was clean, and the servers were going above and beyond. All in all a great experience.

If I could give the place no stars I would . We have had issues over and over but just keep going back giving it another chance. Well today was the last time. I have a sick baby at home and my 10 year old wanted captain ds so I ordered via DoorDash. First issue for me was that for one kids meal and one large meal it was almost 40 bucks . Besides this they left out my sides with my meal , extra chicken I ordered for my son , extra fries for my son and all of our sauces . The food tasted absolutely horrible as if it was cooked yesterday . My son bit into his chicken and about broke his tooth and he was so upset. I do not understand why when we go there ourselves we have to wait forever for “fresh” food and somehow usually get all of our food but for the second time they have messed up a DoorDash order . Anyway done ranting it will not do any good but just felt the need to put it out there .

I just went through the current reviews, and saw the ones from Mason Tabar and Jaye D. I think it is terrible to leave a 1 star review without comment. If your experience was so terrible, at least tell management what was so bad so they can try to take your complaint to heart and improve. So, to offset Mason's and Jaye's stupid reviews, I will leave a 5 star review to try and balance them out.
