Pho Today

Amazing!!! My fiancé took me here for a birthday dinner, and it was so great. Staff was super attentive and friendly. Place was very clean and nice atmosphere. There was a short 5 min wait for seating but that’s ok, I always see this place is busy :-) the shrimp tempura and avocado spring roll taste amazing with their sweet red sauce. I tried their salmon special, and it was so crispy and flavorful! Their pho beef is tasty also. The sunrise cocktail was perfect. Their taro bubble tea smoothie is to die for !!! Overall amazing experience. Will come again very soon.

Today's lunch is Vietnamese cuisine. A popular restaurant with the Vietnamese population is Pho Today. We wanted to try this restaurant for ourselves. This actual restaurant has changed with a few owners and cuisines because of entering and existing. You need to take the back entrance through two hotels. Maybe, that is the reason it changed owners. It is also next to the entrances of Route 287. The interior has the same decor as previous owners. So if you been there before with the previous owners you will be at home with the elegant back dining rooms and wine racks. By, the way. This restaurant has a bar, where you can purchase cocktails, beers and bottle of wines. Now, for the food. We started with the shrimp and pork summer roll. Everything was fresh, crunchy and tasty. The Shrimp Tempura was a big disappointment. Nothing like Japanese Tempura, more like fried shrimp. Tasted more crust than shrimp. We ordered the grilled pork sandwich which was tasty with lettuce, cilantro, jalapeno, basil, pork, etc on a crisp baguette. The monter short rib Pho was a Fred Flintstone portion. Enough for 2 or 3. It was delivered to the table with a knife and fork. As well as, the meat on the bone and a bone with the marrow and the tasty meat and cartilage. The broth was tasty and lite. All the vegetables were at of peak of flavor. The outside has a few tables but, the interior windows do open up to expose the restaurant to fresh air, when weather permitting.

This place is what I would say is the best of the many Vietnamese places in and around Edison/Piscataway. The food is a little pricey, but worth the cost because they have a wide selection of all things Viet, gives plenty, good quality ingredients, and the pork isn't dry. Plus they serve alcohol. Haha.

If I could give 4.5 stats I would’ve. Very nice place, well decorated and clean. Staff is amazing, they are smiling all the time and trying to make you satisfied. Brian, the host and bartender was very nice to explain to us the menu. He came and checked on us many times. The only thing that can make that place shining, to have a better management. For ex. They have a really nice bar setup but no good bartender, the decoration is beautiful but the light is very bright which makes you feel you are setting at a diner. Maybe adding some touches in the food, decoration, good music or the bar area would definitely make it better. Hope to come back Soon.

Decent pho although it is a bit pricier than other Vietnamese restaurants in the area. Overall I still like Saigon Restaurant in South Plainfield more as most of their dishes taste better and prices lower than Pho Today. However indoors, Pho Today has better decor and larger party rooms so the venue is better. Food is average to above average. Wait staff was nice and quick to service. Food is served quickly especially Pho (much of the prep for Pho is way before anyone orders a dish so that makes that dish quick to serve) leading to fast turnover in customers so the place is busier than it seems. People are usually finished with their meals in 30-45 minutes. I’ve been here several times already.
