White Possum

You really need to try the food here, it is amazing! Just because it is plant based, doesn't mean it isn't good and it is good for you. We had the quesadilla and hibachi, both were huge servings and both were absolutely delicious. We will make the 1 hour drive again and again, to try the other dishes that sound just as amazing, based on feedback of others that have tried them. The bonus was the staff and owners are just as amazing as the food.

We visited this restaurant yesterday and loved it. We have been living the Whole Food Plant Based lifestyle since Feb 2020. We finally found a restaurant where we can eat health promoting foods that taste good and make you feel good. I encourage everyone to try it and research the many health benefits of eating WFPB. It’s good for your health and good for the planet. I think every hospital should have a White Possom restaurant because the very foods that create diseases are then served back to people in the hospital. Don’t get me started on fast foods. Go try it with an open mind and if you think it’s not sweet or salty enough your tastebuds will adjust and you will be healthier for it. I can’t thank the owner enough for opening up this WFPB restaurant. Well done Smithville TN.!

Not a regular country kitchen or diner the quality was as good as big chains like Chiles or Applebee’s, not even kidding. Stopped in while on the road and this place was in a rural area of Tennessee so I thought I’d try some rotisserie or bbq possum and it wasn’t on the menu. I was kinda disappointed. Regardless if I was a local I’d put this place in my list of favorites.

Arrived at 1:03 was immediately greeted by a young friendly waitress (no name tag) & told to sit wherever I liked. Only 2 other parties present. Ordered pink lemonade ($2.50) to drink & the “I can’t believe burger” ($11.97) (you get to choose your toppings) with sautéed mushrooms ($0.50), mayo & BBQ. The “burger comes with 1 side & I asked for Mac & Please (their play on Mac & cheese) and was told they no longer offer that menu item, that was a huge disappointment. I a firm believer if you have taken something off your menu then it should no longer be on your menu. Instead I ordered the potato bites. Food arrived at 1:16 pm, 11 minutes after ordering, an acceptable time. The “burger “ was good and worth the price paid. If you like mayo I would ask for more on the side as it was not liberally applied. The BBQ sauce has excellent flavor! The mushroom had good flavor but not sure the 4 slices were worth $0.50. was expecting more mushrooms. The potato bites are seasoned diced baked potato and are yummy! I will return again and recommend that you try it here!
