I love this. Typical of all such food centres in the heart of public housing estates. Cheap and good. With a lot of food of different racial and cultural origins. I like the Indian food here. Can be really crowded at meal time with long queues. Tables are clean. No parking problem as there is a huge public carpark next to it.

Plenty of choices at reasonable prices. Love the Joo Chiat prawn noodle, the soup is still very flavorful and they were formerly from Onan Road...moved to Carpmael Road and now in Ayer Rajah Food Centre. Amazing to see 3 Indian rojak stalls, couldn't resist and ended ordering some to try. We got from Habib, very nice and the sauce is uniquely sweet and spicy.

This is one hawker centre that is constantly busy, day or night. Some stalls cater to the breakfast / lunch crowds, others the lunch / dinner crowds. There's a great selection of muslim food stalls here, more than many other hawker centres. Some of my favourites are the roti prata (stall 55), Joo Chiat prawn noodles, minced pork noodles, soy sauce chicken, satay, and the 2 kopi stalls on both sides of stall 55. It does get busy during peak hours, so it's best to go during off peak, then you'll have better chances of getting a seat. For good malay indian food, this is one place worth checking out. Note that there's a major renovation coming up. I think the food centre will be closed from June to July 2022.

DUCK KWAY TEOW MEE SOUP is the best option for me👍. It's a fulfilling hot breakfast for an affordable price. No queue; abundant tables in this popular food centre. The stall faces a car park so it's airy and access is easy. After that, adjourn to the next row of stalls for a mug of TEH TAREK. Its small, for 90¢, is actually a lot to drink up👍. Nicely mixed with the right proportion of tea, milk, evaporated milk and sugar, this teh gets me coming back to this stall. 👍👍 PS: Just discovered that the nice lady assistant at the stall provides table service. When stall is not too busy, she'll deliver our food to our table. Thanks. 4.5.22 - As the date of closing (9.5.22 to 31.7.22) draws near, nostalgia fills the air at Ayer Rajah Food Centre. Customers like us feel a sense loss even though temporary, as they would miss their favourite foods here. The nearest alternative food centre does not have such a variety of foods, especially at dinner time. So what to do? Also, where are stall holders going to find the money they would earn if not for the closure, however good the intention may be. Are they compensated for the loss of earnings? A suggestion is for them to take a break. But isn't it too long a break for those whose mouth would stop when their hands stop (手停口停)? One stall-holder's wife shrugged her shoulders. She said she has a regular shift job, still it's not good. So she'll be of use when the stall is closed. But what's the stall-holder to do during this vacuum? Won't it take a toll on his mental health? Would he be resuming after the closure? Idk

Predominately known for its Indian Muslim food with many stalls selling briyani, Indian rojak, prata and mee goreng. N M Abdhul Halim Mee Goreng is the star attraction here and in this business for almost 40-years. The hawker center has an industrial feel and of course sell other local favourites like carrot cake, nasi lemak, soya bean etc.
