Times Square

On the site of the former Joo Chiat Police Station, Katong Square is situated in the heart of Katong and boasts the largest open public space in the vicinity, Katong Square is a Commercial Building in Singapore. Located at East Coast Road Road in the Marine Parade District. The site was re-developed into Katong Square a few years ago. The development includes Holiday Inn Express and Hotel Indigo and a 2 storey mall.

A rather small mall that's about a year old. But considering it's right below a couple of hotels (Hotel Indigo and Holiday Inn Express) it's an interesting concept. Shops are limited. No supermarket in this mall, but no shortage of food options. There's sufficient parking here and the occasional weekend bazaar.

The mini mall is, after renovation some 7 years ago does not have a good exposure and lack foot traffic. Inside, it has a rather downcast ambience, which affects all the f and B outlets. IMHO, the interior has to be re-done and layout improved. The entrance area is also badly laid out. It's a tough call to make this place a success, especially with neighbour I12 Katong already open for business a couple of weeks ago with several tenants attracting good business.
