Chat Masala

First 'big' group dining since the lifting of restriction to 10 paxes. Despite staying not too far from this place, it is actually my first time dining in Chat Masala. I think this place has been opened for a very very long time, at least 20 years? The menu is overwhelming but in a good way. Selection from naan, curries, biriyani etc. feature lots of different choices and very good for big group size to share and try lots of dishes. The spiciness also varies which was another plus point, some are mild, some are spicier, and really can cater to different taste buds. My personal favourite are the naan (both plain and garlic), the chicken masala curry and the chicken biriyani is also a winner. They also have very good house wine at $38++ per bottle which was quite good value. However, find the beer selection a bit lacking, and they don't have draft beer. Beer and the dishes they served will go well, and with draft beer best.

Ordered the food last night through grab and regretted. Dal makhani was stale and tasteless, kadhai Paneer was even worse. But the worst was lachha parantha and tandoori roti which were half baked. Literally spoiled our family dinner experience. The food was so horrible that my wife suffered with food poisoning whole night. 😫 One of the most horrible Indian food in Singapore. Would have given half stars if there was an option.

Our dear friend ordered the food online and picked it up personally for a lovely feast on mysore mutton, chicken masala, dhal and naan. It was a fabulous meal I must declare. However, at 4am, I suffered severely from diarrhea and stomach pains. Next morning, all 5 of us found out that we all suffered from bad food poisoning in the early morning. I take this as a warning. Eat at food outlets you can trust! And Chat Masala Boss, do take a look at your procedures before it's too late and you kill someone. Remember Spize?
