I hidden gem in Silver Spring. Not just a winery, as they offer beer and cocktails as well as offerings of mezze. The wines include local favorites from around MD and their international wines include Greek, such as Charilys, Moschofilero and Naoussa. They also have few French offerings. Events include live music, yoga & wine, farmers market, wine classes and much more. They also have outdoor seating for warm days, so bring your pooch. The owner and staff are amazing! They truly embody the spirit of philoxenia; they make you feel like family.

Went for the first time today! Wine was absolutely delicious, as well as the food! Love that this is a family owned business. Georgia was so kind and gave us the history of each wine we ordered. Highly recommend! We’ll definitely be back!

Very impressed with this quaint, creative, true-to-its-name Urban Winery, making their own wine on-premises/in-house! Our faves from the "VIP Lounge" and "Three Wise Merlots" flights, were the *bourbon* (yes! bourbon) barrel-aged merlots. Their aperitivo-style food items -- including a very tasty, Italian-esque "fried zucchini blossoms" -- were satisfying. Directional NOTE: the Google Maps dropped pin is not 100% accurate -- if driving (we walked though..easier and healthier), enter the industrial warehouse parking lot area off of Stewart Ave, but the Winery entrance is back in the northern, triangular corner of the lot, in between the buildings designated as "Autopart International" and "Constellation Theatre Creative HQ" on Maps {as of Oct'23}.

Really great vibes! Highly recommended for a date or group of friends. Live music is great. The wine was great and the bartender made great recommendations and knew about the wine!

Urban winery is an elegant, yet relaxed and fun place to enjoy an evening out with friends or family. This trendy spot offers wines made from locally sourced grapes and mouthwatering food to pair with your drink of choice. Part of what makes the Urban Winery experience so unique, is finding it nestled among industrial buildings and warehouses (look for the sign!). Once you find it, there’s ample parking. It’s a family-owned and run business with the owners and family regularly there interacting with customers and coordinating wine tastings. They are nice people with a passion for making wine that goes back generations. There’s a broad selection of wines made from local grapes, each with its own unique flavor and aroma. The blackberry cabernet tasted like the name, bursting with blackberry flavor! Sample wines with flights or choose a bottle to enjoy with your meal. They also offer a large selection of beer and cocktails. The Elderberry-St. Germaine cocktail, for example, was so delicious and memorable, I’ll be sure to order it again during my next visit. The food is equally impressive, featuring meze that complement the wines. Whether you're in the mood for a cheese board or something heartier, you'll find something to satisfy your taste buds at Urban Winery. The menu seems limited at first glance, but visitors soon learn that the appetizer choices are plentiful, the cheese plate loaded with delicious options, and the specialty themed foods add creativity and surprise to the menu. The lamb chops are tender and juicy and the chicken souvlaki served on Greek night was soft, juicy, and delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and chic, with exposed brick walls, wooden tables, and soft lighting. The wide variety of live music and events keep things lively and fun. Urban Winery also has a beautiful, cozy, private patio in the back, where you can enjoy live music when the weather is nice. We especially enjoyed the Greek Night because the beautiful music combined with the lovingly decorated patio made us feel like we were in a real Greek Taverna. Urban Winery is not just a restaurant, it's a destination. Don't miss this hidden gem in the city!

The atmosphere here is nice! Although located in a parking lot, the patio still felt warm and inviting. We orders the Metro and Garden Party flights, and enjoyed them all. The board are a bit overpriced for the amount you receive, although I did enjoy the cheese selections. Would come again and skip the board.

We each got a metro flight of 5 wines. If you tend to like a little bit of a sweeter wine this is the flight for you. We loved all 5 of our samples which is pretty rare for us! We also got a build your own charcuterie board. We both felt this was a bit overpriced for the small amount of food you got on it. However, the cheeses we got were very tasty. As with most of the world it seems everyone is still short staffed and they were struggling with this the day we visited, but everyone we encountered on staff was friendly and helpful. Overall it is a very pleasant place to visit and I would recommend it!

Last Saturday was my second time visiting this restaurant, and it did not disappoint! The bartender/waitress was extremely knowledgeable about all the wines and suggested the perfect charcuterie board to pair with the flight I chose. She was so nice and very attentive, I highly recommend this place!

I would give them 10 STARS they surpassed my expectations! I booked space for my Birthday Party and they were beyond professional, everything was ready on time exactly like I planned. Mel was our hostess and she went above and beyond on customer service and her knowledge of the wine and I had approximately 25 guest she gave everyone attention. I can not thank the staff enough. The food was EXCELLENT and the wine was AMAZING we were able to purchase bottles to take home. You have a loyal customer!

Walked in and sat down at the bar to a very busy staff. The environment is very pleasant and romantic but I felt forced to have to be acknowledged and ask for a menu after waiting awhile. Soon after I was acknowledged with a glass of water. They make their own wines which I confirmed are only available on location but do offer at several wine festivals. It would be nice to know if they offer tours. The avocado toast was delicious with a little residual heat but again had to ask staff for a napkin. The Maryland wine selectiom is vey limited on white wine choices but the Silver Spring White was semi-dry and really enjoyed following the recommended pairing on the menu with the toast. I also ordered the wings and was pleasantly surprised with even a little more spice due to the single line drapped over the "spiced chicken wings" with siraracha. I overheard usually they have live music on Friday and Saturday nights but tonight no one would be performing. I was shocked to have the menu taken away to not be able to see future wine choice. There are four beer on tap when writing this review but could support a total of six based on their taps. While sitting here awhile I discovered they do have free wifi but there isn't any history or mission decription about what inspired the owners to start the business. I asked and was told they were open three years but it would be a nice touch on the menu to provide this information. Overall the place is above average but could work on a few things to be even better. Staff were talking and mentioned they were running out of wine glasses which seems a little shocking with the place only half full. The winery seems a little confused on what it wants to be with the wood, brick then dark brown painted cinder block along the bar and restaurant. Will definitely be returning and hopefully my next experience is a little better.
