Food is excellent. Large portions. Clean restaurant. Restrooms are also clean. Service was fast. The staff courteous. Decor is simple with some African instruments and games. Food is présented in to go boxes with disposable silverware ( blame is on C.rona) I definitely, recommend this restaurant. Plus it is black owned.

Do yourself a favor and check them out. Everything is good. The goat dibi meal, the beef shawarma, the jollof rice; they even have Mac and cheese for the American Tate buds. I don't even know why you're still reading this review. Go to the restaurant, order online, they also got a food truck in DC. No excuses, just satisfaction. Eat well friends.

Visited 11.18.23 FOOD: 5/5 Ordered the Salmon Steak with jollof and plantains and the Dibi Chicken with jollof and Mac and cheese in addition to their ginger hibiscus drink. Everything was delicious and flavorful. The ginger hibiscus drink is amazing, they need to bottle that and sell it in stores. I always take home a half gallon. SERVICE: 5/5 Service is excellent. The young lady and gentleman working the counter were super friendly and make sure to learn your name and call you by it like you’re family. ATMOSPHERE: 5/5 Nice relaxing seating area with a TV.

As a fellow west african I am always on the lookout for home that reminds me of home and this place hits the mark. The meats are always well spiced and perfect grilled and that’s the icing on top of the perfect service and friendly demeanor of the staff. I have only tried the rice and the chicken but I’m on a mission to make it through the entire menu!

I stumbled upon Koite one day as they were bbqing on Branch Ave. It was the line that drew my attention. The line of brown folks always pique my interest cause we don’t stand in lines for no good reason lol. I stopped and did not regret it one bit. The char grilled meats and veggies were very flavorful. The piece de resistance was the hot mustard. The lamb chops were among the best that I’ve had. While the food tends to be on the pricier side, it’s worth it! The service is nice. The only drawback is the time it takes to get your food. Patience will be needed but over all I give Koite 4.5 stars easy.

My first time having Senegalese, and my first Beignet! The Fataya Pastel (fish pastry) was yummy. A good meal for 2 people.

One of my favorite restaurants in silver spring. The food never disappoints and is a go to on days I don’t want to cook. Pro tip: order pickup at least 30mins ahead of time as their wait times when you order in house can be quite significant

This is going to be my spot. I love this entire set up. The food is superb. The drinks are fantastic. The service is wonderful. And I can sit outside and people watch. That’s everything I could want in a place.

As a Senegalese person the food was absolutely amazing. The dibi, thiebou diene, fataya, bissap everything was immaculate! And reminded me so much of my moms cooking. The service was great and truly embodied the meaning of Teranga. The man behind the cashier was so friendly and checked on us as we waited for the food. I have zero complaints! I will visit anytime I come back to Maryland!

Please do yourself a favor and try the foods there. I am so glad I found this place. Had broiled whole chicken and grilled lamb, couscous, rice and macaroni and cheese. I will come back to try other dishes. Honestly, the flavors were phenomenal - balanced and rich. The dishes we had were not greasy. This to me is one of the very best places to eat in the area.

"Kotie Grill is a hidden gem that serves up some of the most delicious and flavorful food you'll ever taste. From their mouthwatering grilled chicken and lamb, to their perfectly cooked steaks, every dish is a true taste bud sensation. I've been lucky enough to frequent their food truck for years and was thrilled to discover they now have two restaurants, one with full service and the other with takeout options and a small ethnic grocery store. The grilled onions are a standout and truly make the dishes even more memorable. The family-owned business brings authenticity and love to each dish, especially the stew with peanut butter which is simply amazing. Whether you're a fan of Senegalese cuisine or just love great food, Kotie Grill is a must-try for anyone in the Silver Spring or Laurel, Maryland area."

So I went here not knowing what to expect, but the reviews were so good so I had to try. My honest opinion. Wow. The food was so tasty and flavorful. The meat was so tender and soft and the rice was so yummy. I will definitely be coming back here soon!! All their meat is halal just FYI! The only downside is their food takes a little while to come out but hey you can't rush amazing food!

I heard about Koite Grill from the Washington Post issue, and knew I had to try this restaurant. I drove today from Arlington to Silver Spring and met with a nice lady at the cashier that gave us the menu. Many dishes to choose from, my sister and I finally settled with Thiebou Dienne, Dibi Meat (Lamb option) with plantains, and Degue as dessert. OH MY GOOOOOODNESS!!!! Just tasting the rice brought us back to our African motherland! It felt like I took a quick trip to Senegal. The smokiness of the rice was unbelievable, the fish was succulent, the Lamb was carefully seasoned and grilled, even the fried plantains deserved praises. For Koite Grill, I don't mind driving back to Silver Spring, please Koite family keep up the good work and know that your food is highly appreciated!!!
