Denny's

Well the picture explains it all pretty much. They did take off one of our meals BUT we didn’t even eat after seeing this fly in the syrup just wasn’t happening. The thermostat is hanging out the wall all broke. My shoes stuck to the floor and when I went into the women’s restroom I almost LOST my shoe from how sticky the floor was. I will NEVER return here. Beware.

Very slow service although there were few customers and seemed to be a lot of staff. My wife's food was held in the window too long and so was luke-warm, although mine was fine and tasty. She didn't want to bother sending it back and said that it tasted good, just not warm enough. The trashcan at the entrance was overflowing, and there was a rodent trap near it. We probably should have turned back there but we were traveling through and didn't know the area. Our waitress was very nice and attentive however, I never ran out of coffee and she was prompt with other requests.

All praise to Mike the waiter and all the staff today! You guys were the stars today! Mike was the only one on the floor, doing everything. It was busy and they were short staffed in the kitchen. Mike apologized and let me and the guests ahead of me know that there might be a bit of a wait. However, as far as I could tell, the wait time for service and my food was, if anything shorter than I have come to expect from most Denny's and other restaurants lately. And the food was great, my steak was perfect. Way better than I expected from a Denny's by a long shot! Watching Mike move around, constantly busy, never brusque, outwardly and sincerely friendly and attentive, never once coming across as impatient, I realized that I haven't seen or experienced that level of professionalism and service in any restaurant in a very long time. I even spotted him through the kitchen door helping with the dishes. Give Mike and and the rest of today's crew a raise or you are going to lose them.

Denny's is usually a good experience for our family. That day we had our 3 grandchildren with us. We had to ask the waitress for menus, kids menus and crayons TWICE before we got them. The food was alright except the gravy on the order was skimpy so we ordered a side of gravy. She never even brought it. I would have understood, somewhat, if it had been busy, but there were only a handful of tables with customers.

This rating is more for the service, I mean we all already know Dennys food is awesome, right?! But just to make the obvious known, we don't all always get the best servers.. however, I wanted to let it be known, this place has a few that exceed and try really hard for their customers.. I just hope when you guys come across them, they are recognized for their hard work, they were killing it!! And you'll know who they are I'd you're lucky and get one.. good luck! Great place! 5 ☆s
