Showdown

This was my first bar experience in the US, people are friendly they will check your ID which I appreciate a lot because underage people should not be drinking inside. I did not have much time to enjoy the drink or the food because I was in a hurry; my bus would leave within the next hour and I had to go back to the university to collect my card, but I needed a place for food and drinks. So, despite being in a position that is not so ideal for the first bar experience - I got the friendly vibe that helped me put 5★, besides their food was so good and the quantity was ample; tried their Bloody Mary and it was AWESOME. They have a very nice environment, not shiny and all but I liked the retro vibe, that's why I'd give their restroom a plus even though it’s not very likeable in other settings, but the vibe was perfect.

If you're looking for some late night good food and games then look no further!! Other than a few out of order pinball machines games were working well, 2 pool tables and nice atmosphere. No burgers/fries but the best late breakfast sandwich I've ever had on Texas toast. The cook was so sweet and took extra care to make sure the hash browns stayed vegan for my hubby and great munchie foods. Overall wonderful time! 10 out of 10!

This place is probably one of my favorites if not the favorite. Humble, relaxed, retro, grungy and cheap! As far a dive bars go this one will always have a special place in my heart. Best spirit prices on the square and delicious burgers, so delicious in fact that even their veggie burger is delicious. This is the only place I ever actually eat a veggie burger from. Try it with cheese, add grilled mushrooms and a fried egg paired with a cold beer. Best hangover cure hands down!

A piece of my heart stayed at Showdown. This is where you come to take shots before finals, to cry after finals and where strangers become familiar faces.The crowd is a box of chocolates and if that isn't enough of a distraction, feast your eyes on the random assortment of wall decor that line its walls.
