Viva La Boba

Went by on a fluke. Pleasantly surprised at how cool this little shop looks. It feels like it should be on some beach, not in downtown SB. Anyway, tried the Taro Milk with oat milk at half sweet. DELICIOUS! Of course, some of that is because half-sweet here is regular sweet anywhere else, so I got a tasty and unexpected sugar high. But now I know to ask for 1/4 sweet next time. ;-) Comes in plastic cup with plastic film covering it that you stick your paper straw through. I expect to be visiting here more often. They have at least 10 different flavored syrups, including lavender and lychee. So I have a lot to explore!

I was very impressed with the customer service. The person was very engaging. They did mess up one of the drinks (which is why I'm giving them 4 instead of 5 stars) but they took the drink back and remade it immediately. I also like that you can build your own drinks instead of being confined to premade drinks. Another thing I liked is that their drinks aren't overly sweet (like so many other places). If I'm in town, I will definitely go here again. Update: I went back the same day and the boba was over cooked. 😕

Girl with ponytails has bad attitude. The drinks are watered down and have almost no flavor. The bobas are hard and my slushy had hot bobas which ended up melting the slushy fast 😒. My thai tea was not milky at all and does not taste like thai tea. Too much people and the wait is long. I had high hopes because I love bobas but this are so far the worse I've tried. 😔

Although I love the drinks here and most of the staff is friendl, there is one barista that half the time has a very bad attitude. Today had to be the WORST I have seen here. She usually wears glasses and has dyed hair. She was rude to not only me but everyone else in line. I could go on about how terrible everything went but I definitely think if she has something going on, she shouldn’t get crazy about it on the customers.
