This place is splendid. You will find from scratch food here. Dressings and sauces made in house. Exquisite. Fine service--you will not have an empty glass or cup. In this palate's humble opinion, one of the top three tenderloins that can be found in St. Joseph, MO.

The service was slow and the waiter forgot our appetizer but made it up in the end. He was very nice. Great atmosphere located in downtown St. Joseph. The restaurant was very clean and food was great. Presentation was amazing. Looked like food from a magazine. Will go back.

Jake’s is AH-MAZING! Staff is super sweet and great. Food is awesome. Must have fried pickles! Biscuits and gravy is yum and great deal for size. Only change I’d request is the chicken with the chicken and waffles be fried in batter like the chicken sandwich and fried pickles are. The corn mill coat is t very tasty :/ Other than that EVERYTHING on menu is outstanding! O and live music Friday and Saturday nights... never been disappointed!

We love Jakes and there food is always outstanding. We ate there tonite it was the most disappointing meal we have ever had there in 4 years. I had a steak and it was outstanding as usual. My wife and son had ribs and they were way over done and extremely dry. We all three had mac an cheese which was cold and pastie. We will come back though. No ribs.

Before covid-19, they had a lot more choices on the menu. They still have fantastic nachos. Try the pita nachos, they're homemade. Their beer cheese is to die for. They have a great breakfast menu as well. They have a bloody mary bar on Sundays where you can put your own fixins in on or around your Bloody Mary.
