Alex's Pizza

Unfortunately after giving this establishment so many second chances, I finally have to make my decision on 2/5. Price wise the food is in my opinion overpriced for what you get. 12 dollar salads feature iceberg lettuce is in my opinion an embarrassment. Iceberg is neither tasty or Greek. All you can count on an iceberg to do is sink your experience like the Titanic. My beverage was mostly flat, although this could be from a fountain issue. The Gyro meat itself is quite good and tastes well, but is quite naked in the pita. I personally prefer Gyros to be accompanied with more vegetables to establish a more Mediterranean flair. The fries are also very good. The gyros meat was cold to the touch when served to us. Cheesy garlic bread lacked any garlic. Only featuring cheese that poorly paired with "garlic" bread, tasting more like a bland slice of great value gouda. After bringing up our grievances with the "garlic" bread not having any garlic on it, we were still billed full price for the incorrectly prepared item. Internally the dining room features dated and cracked seating and visible lack of cleanliness. There are plenty of better establishments in the local Rolla area. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this establishment.

Pizza is great. Has a slightly different taste than what you experience from most pizza places. It’s that Greek based recipe they’ve been using for so many years. First introduced to Alex’s while attending UMR; now we make it a point to stop for pizza any time we’re close by. We particularly like the sausage pizza. Let’s hope they never alter their recipe.

Alex’s pizza is a Rolla Landmark who’s delicious and time honored recipes have stayed the same…..Delicious….. for years. The Greek style pizza here is unique and tasty, albeit a touch on the spendy side. The crust is thin, but only crispy on the edges. And yummmm all the way through! The Alex’s special and Mediterranean pizza are my personal recommendation. Did I mention the have a whole menu of Greek cuisine? I have yet to have anything I didn’t like.

I have been a fan of Alex's since the day he opened this pizzeria!! I absolutely love the spices, just the way Alex always made it. I love the consistency of the beef over the pizza. After my dear Alex retired and then passed away, his children have continued his great traditional trademark pizza and expanded the restaurant beautifully. It has gotten a bit high, but so has everything else. We just can't go as much as we would want to. But, I'd rather have Alex's than a steak anywhere.

Busy, but delicious! The entryway was small, and it took us a while to be seated because the seemingly limited staff were busy with the large numbers of customers in the restaurant. Once we sat down the server was very fast and kind in helping us. The food came fast and was delicious. We got the cheese bites and the house specialty pizza. 10/10 recommend the cheese bites. I recommend giving Alex’s a try!
