Denny's

The only reason I’m giving this a two star review is because the service was very good. Our server was amazing, friendly, and helpful. The hostess was also very friendly. The food on the other hand was subpar at the very best. The pancakes tasted and had a texture kind of between old tire rubber and cardboard. The French toast was overcooked and the crusts were not edible. The best part of the meal was the chunky potato hash browns. The bathrooms were disgusting. They have not been properly cleaned for a very long time. So so so so so gross.

Came here for the birthday meal and super slam promotion. Free refills on the coffee was very good value as well, but it was pretty watered down. Food tasted decent but the place seemed dirty. Floor wasn’t sweeped even once and cleanliness didn’t seem to be their strong point. The servers also didn’t seem to care much about their jobs. The two stars are purely only for the food and value of it.

Came here on our way back to Edmonton. We were seated at Table#52, Check 60 for Jan.1,2022. Me and my 3 kids were seated in the back corner of the restaurant. It was not a busy day. Took 10 minutes for someone to take drink orders. Left before we can order food as we already knew what we wanted. She came back with drinks after seving every other table. 12:05 and our food still hasnt arrived. Staff nowhere to be found. Had to speak sternly to staff to get my point across that we have been waiting for almost 45 minutes for our food. An employee comes out and tells me that they were supposed to be closed today. I told her if it was such a bother to serve people since they were supposed to be closed, then they should have told us we would go somewhere else. Our original server comes out and apoligizes. Offered to take care of our meal. I told her I dont want a free meal or a discount. I just want my hungry kids fed. Food comes out after another 10 mins...and of course my meal is cold. Called server back, asked her to microwave it...Comes back out after another 10 minutes. Overall very poor service. To top that off the restaurant was freezing too. I dont blame our server but I do blame the Manager for poor scheduling and the seemingly salty kitchen staff. I asked for my food to be microwaved, takes less than 5 mins, food comes out after 10 mins "fresh". Poorly run restaurant. Im paying my bill in full and never coming here again. Server offered to cover my bill again and I said no. She gave me a less than $5 discount on my bill. I dont want freebies I just wanted to be treated like the paying customer that I am. But funny how the table that sat down behind us, an all white family, got service in 5 minutes. Guess an Asian man with 3 hungry kids is not a priority eh Denny's?

Came over the weekend and was served by a waitress named Alisha. She has to be the most polite waitress I've had at this and any other location. Very knowledgeable about the menu and was always at our table topping up our coffee, very diligent. The food was great too! It was brought out in a timely manner. Can't wait to visit again with my coworkers.
