I was very excited to visit here. Everything on the menu sounded good and the prices can't be beat. We showed up during the Monday lunch hour. The place was dead.
I ordered the Turkey Tom panini (with cranberry pesto) and my husband ordered the Italian sandwich. We each picked out a San Pellegrino from their fridge. The bill came to $30, my husband later told me. (No wonder the place is dead with a Quizno's next door. )
While waiting, I observed cobwebs around the window sills, crumbs on tables, wicker chairs in need of repair.
Our food came out promptly with mac salad. Everything was delicious.
The place needs a good cleaning, some repairs, and the cook should wear a hair net...

Coffee is good. A little pricey, but I would come here again for coffee exclusively just due to convenience. However, food was mediocre at best. Ordered a carrot cake, but got a cheesecake instead. Luckily, I didn't really mind. However, one too many things just added up. Bacon was the thinnest I've ever seen, Normandy omelet was dry, and hash browns looked pre-packaged (as a lot of the food here probably is).

Definitely one of my favorite places for breakfast and lunch in the east bay. The food quality is extremely fresh, and much of it is organic. They have very filling and nutritious meals, especially for the price. It's a pleasant environment to be in. The staff is super friendly too. I highly recommend this place!

I stumbled upon Cafe Pascal by using the Yelp "Nearby" feature as I was out in Richmond on business and needed to find a close by lunch place. I'm glad I did. This little place is charming and full of character. French style character. Nicely setup, it has quintessential French cafe chairs and tables. I've been lucky to have been to Paris around 20+ times over the past 15 years and always liked sitting in those chairs. There was also live music. Very interesting for a lunch cafe in Richmond. Made me want to stick around longer. Nice touch.
Surveying the menu, I was struck by the amount of choice yet it stayed within cafe character - not too much but not the typical limited menu most cafes have. I order the veggie panini. Sitting outside, there's a very nice little patio area with the parking surrounding it but it still felt nice - not like you're in a parking lot. Out came the food.
On first glance, I liked what I saw - a French style panini. Not a squished American sandwich in a panini grill but an actual French style creation. Did I mentioned that it was about 5 minutes after we ordered? Good for a business lunch. How was it? I could have had two. It was the best panini I've had since I can remember.
Service you might ask? Extremely personal. Exceptionally welcoming. Duly impressed. They made sure we had everything we needed, checked in without being overbearing and... this was for a cafe lunch, not an expensive restaurant.
Cafe Pascal is right off the freeway in Richmond. Easy to get to. Instead of screaming by at 75, crank the wheel onto the offramp, hit the brakes and head into the parking lot for a great lunch. Now, I've only been there once and I don't give many 5 stars... but in my opinion, Cafe Pascal is deserving. I'm pretty convinced that if I ordered anything else, I would be as impressed.

Worst experience of my life. There is was mold on a lot of the food. Owner was extremely rude when we asked for a refund. No refund was given. I was told to take it up with my bank. Also said it's not your money anymore. I've never been disrespect like this at a restaurant and for no good reason. Please nobody go here.

Cafe Pascal is a lovely place to go for breakfast, lunch, or brunch. The staff there are friendly, accommodating, and helpful. Best of all, the food is fresh, tasty, and inexpensive. I had a wonderful meal there!

I checked in with some cheesecakes there and it was way overpriced for a thinly slice of cheesecake with no toppings on it ! It was priced at 5 dollars or more for a small peice! Not worth it! Charge it at 1.50 to 2 dollars instead! ! Never stepped foot again in the store.
