Marrakesh Restaurant

This was my second time going. The food is amazing. Expect to wait a bit because it's more of a relaxed atmosphere, but the wait is totally worth it. The staff is kind and if you're lucky enough to be there when the belly dancer is performing, it's a great time. I'm not in Portland often, but I 100% plan on coming back!!

Even when they are super busy they still provide good service. The food is a truly worthy experience, especially the bestillo. It is not a traditional restaurant environment, most tables sit low to the ground (18 inches -ish) with short ottomans and couches to sit on. Food is usually shared and some is eaten directly by hand. (They provide hand rinses at the table) Also, they usually have a belly dancer that performs a couple times in the evening. I've been there several times and have enjoyed each instance.

The service was outstanding and it felt like we got a taste of Moroccan culture on top of the food. As a side-note, the seating and table are very low, which some might not find comfortable. The restaurant was very accommodating and had a vegan option for every course. My partner got the moussaka (without cheese) and I got the Breka vegetarian. I’m not huge on salads, but I enjoyed the salad as much as the entree. The moussaka was alright (probably better with vegan cheese) and the breka was delicious. All the courses added up to a lot of food, so be sure to come hungry!

Fantastic, very flavorful. We went with a group of friends for a celebration. We all had fun, great time was had by all. Sadly, my phone was nearly dead, and photos not taken. We opted to do a group feast. We'll worth the cost. The kitchen definitely nailed it. The server was top-notch. She was extremely knowledgeable about the meal. She not only knew the name of each dish. She knew what the ingredients of each dish were and how it was prepared. From the point of rinse to payment, We kept to no utensils. She offered us dipping bread throughout the meal. Except for the pudding dish. Obviously, we used spoons. Thank you to the crew of Marrakesh. The Moroccan meal was perfect.
