Sand Dollar Cafe

This place is delicious! Ordered shrimp and grits to go one morning and was so delicious that we stopped there for lunch as we were leaving town and had the catfish and crayfish with sides. Ate outside because we had our dog with us. Several servers came outside to greet and give love to the dog and a water bowl was immediately provided to her. The food was amazing and the pricing is great! This place has been added to our must eat list when we come to Port St Jow to visit!!

My husband and I were passing through town from St. George’s Island to Destin. We just did a Google search for a quick place to eat. We were pleasantly surprised! It’s definitely southern comfort food! When we first walked in, the place seemed quiet and quaint, not at all that impressive. But, we ordered anyways, then sat down on the outdoor porch facing the street/beach side. We had the crab cakes with remoulade sauce, and the pork loin with mushroom cream gravy. Both were great with all of the sides. It was actually quite a nice atmosphere. The staff was also very friendly and attentive. We hope to try their breakfast next time.

What's not to love about the Sand Dollar Cafe. I only get to enjoy the food here once or twice a year, but each time I get to go, it's always delicious. The food is always freshly made, and it's become a staple of my Port St. Joe visit. Check the menu online and on Facebook to see what's being served that day. A meat, two sides, and a piece of cornbread and a drink for $13 is not too bad. I had beef tips, rice, sweetened carrots, and loaded Mac/cheese with bacon. The wife had the hamburger steak with mashed potatoes and lima beans. 4 thumbs up!!

Cafeteria breakfast at it's best! We had the seafood breakfast casserole, potatoes, shrimp and grits and bread pudding for dessert. Also got a brownie for the road. I will definitely be coming back to this wonderful place on my nexttripto Port StJoe. Staff was super friendly and on point. Great experience!

I didn't realize breakfast is only served until 10:30 a.m. I don't know what I was thinking, however, they did let us order. I was so thankful because my family looks forward to eating at this place every year. This part of our tradition for our vacation. As always I love the cheese grits! All their food is exceptional. My children love biscuits and gravy but here they were little bit spicy. I disagreed, I loved it, lots of flavor. Thank you to the gentleman who let us order last minute!
