Lotus At Lighthouse

What a rip-off! Read good reviews and took my family of 11 for dinner . Ordered the BANQUET for $40 pp and was so disappointed ! I don’t know how they work out their portions but only enough for half our family . Just order plates separately! Other tables that came in 15mins after us got their meals before we did and I had to ask the waitress to check on our order as it was getting rediculous . Maybe they have their regulars to cater to first but was very disappointed. Our bill was almost $600 and had a word with the manager whip blamed her staff and the fact it was Easter . Do not recommend this place . OVER-RATED! And food wasn’t even that great . Go elsewhere ..

Lotus has some reasonable good quality chinese food (depending on the dishes). Curry Puffs were ok with a decent amount of mince inside. The malay clay pot was so so. Special fried rice was way too dry but the saviour of the night was the sweet and sour pork which was great! Service was alright. Serving size was large.

From Sydney and go to Chinese restaurants all the time. This was not exactly the Chinese food we were after. Our dishes were bland and not real flavour to it. Ordered Mongolian lamb and didn’t really taste like it. Seemed to me to be a little watered down and the coke was the same. We ordered fresh chopped chilli with soy sauce and received frozen chilli instead. The two stars is for the restaurant and service but food was a let down.

Booked late on Saturday arvo got a table for 4 at 7pm arrived and the restaurant was packed. We were seated and served within 20 minutes. Thought we were in for a long wait.The food was delicious and a good portion.and to top off they gave us a small fruit plate each.Have not been to this place for about 6 years but will be back 4 sure 👍👍🍽
