Mediterra Bakehouse

These guys are incredibly nice. They donated us a cake which I posted that helped raise a lot of money for the 2023 Gala that Three Rivers business Alliance held at the soldiers and sailors monument in Oakland Pennsylvania this year. I have been ordering from Mediterra for years, the staff provides exceptional service, owners always take time to talk and could not be more accommodating. Everyone is pleasant, orders are always correct and quality of bake goods is unsurpassed. They are perfectionists they love what they do and it is evident in the product. Likewise the Mt. Lebanon café is first class. Highly recommend.

Stopped by on my way back to Virginia from a trip to Eerie and was thrilled to be able to see some real bread making in action. Mike showed me around a bit and then I got some bread. It is some of the most gorgeous and tasty bread I've ever eaten. My wife and I scarfed down the majority of two loaves when I got home last night and plan to eat the rest with wine, cheese, and delicious meats. I was glad to learn that Whole Foods also carries their bread locally!

The first thing that comes to mind when going to Mediterra is “absolute delicacy”! I had the pleasure of going to Mediterra at a catered event so I was able to try many of the food choices and overall I felt very impressed. Attached to my review you can find the menu of the catered foods that we had tried. Of the many delicious foods that I’ve tried my favorite dish would definitely have to be the sprouted grain salad with the with roasted sweet potatoes and lentils. Because this place is fancy the salad also includes farro, quinoa, herbs, radish, fennel, musclum greens and toum. The dressing was especially delicious and complemented the nutty, earthy flavor of the grains as well as the fresh herbs throughout the salad. It was very well balanced. I also really enjoyed the heirloom squash soup with the fennel, maple and herbs. I actually never would have thought that fennel would taste so good with the squash and beans in the soup and the soup also went really well with the salad to the point where I was even mixing the two together. I might even call it the best soup and salad combo I’ve ever had! My partner and I also really enjoyed the succulent salmon with dill and butter and the very rosemary flavored chicken which was just as tender and delicious as the salmon. I could also tell that the coffee they served was of higher quality. The only food selections I personally didn’t prefer would be the strong white and red wines, the strong and hard cheeses, and the roasted marble potatoes (although I did like the other roasted vegetables). Another downside was that there wasn’t enough space in the restaurant for everyone who was there. As a result, we were stepping over one another’s toes and blocking one another from being able to use the bathroom or be seated very easily. Also, as shown from the other menu that I posted the prices are not very reasonable.

We used Mediterra for a bridal shower yesterday at Carnegie Coffee Company. It was PERFECT! The bride is not a huge cake fan so we didn't do the traditional cake or cupcakes. We ordered cookies and brownies. We had 2 types of cookies and 2 types of brownies. They were delivered directly to the venue (as they work together anyway) and they were absolutely delicious! The presentation was beautiful and all of our guests raved about the entire event...AND the treats, of course. It was nice to have something different instead of cake. Angela was super easy to work with in planning for our baked goods and was very helpful. She make great suggestions! Thank you so much for making our event even sweeter.... If you are considering using Mediterra Bakehouse for anything, you will not be disappointed!!!!
