El Taco

This place is amazing! Prob my favorite mexican restaurant in Philly. The food comes out pretty quick, they give good portion sizes at reasonable prices. The best part is they dont sacrifice quality in light of the quantity and price. The food is absolutely delicious and flavor rich! Ive never had a bad item off the food menu. From the tacos to the burritos etc. they seem to just have a certain quality standard. Very filling and the desserts are amazing too. The apple empanada is great. Def a must try!

The food was nasty but the service was worse... I ordered $50 worth of food and when I sent my son in to pay for it. They wanted to know my whole order because they didnt write my name with my order so I had to call again. .. When I said i was getting tacos my neighbor asked me to get her some too and called in her order. Because they dont write names I had to call her to ask her what they ordered.. Irritating at best. Completely messed my order up. I wanted queso cheese in the taco as its listed as salsa option instead of regular or spicy salsa. They put it on the side and charged ne additional. They Charged me more then their advertised pricing on the website when I did pick up and Charged me for stuff other stuff that should have came with my order😒.

Good food, good prices. Nice staff. Small location and easy to miss. Needs more seating. Loaded fries and burrito were yummy. Limited selection of desserts (only has tried leches mon-wed) and no coffee esp Mexican coffee which was really hoping for. Empanada overpriced. Hard taco too hard to eat n not enough acid and meat.

El Taco has been a pandemic staple and will probably forever be a go-to. I’ve only ever gotten their burritos but they are so heckin good. VEGETARIANS - come one, come all. There are 3 different yet equally amazing burrito options. Forget overly-soggy burritos from amateurly sautéed veggies. Forget taking one look at a menu and knowing what you’re ordering right away because there’s only one option for you. These are hard to choose from but satisfying nevertheless. PSA: To prevent any major disappointment, just remember they are closed on Sundays. More than once have my bf and I hyped each other up to eat burritos Sunday evening only to be reminded that they take a (well deserved) day off.
