Vaqueros Mexican Restaurant

Food was tasty and service was okay. But beware if you’re paying with a card, make sure you keep your receipt copy filled out and check your transaction history on your bank account. They added extra charges to my card after I had already paid and left and when I called the restaurant for assistance the person I spoke to kept saying they didn’t know what I was talking about. Luckily my bank credited me the extra amount I was charged since I had my receipt as proof. Although the food was good, definitely not going back.

Food was great, but the margaritas were very disappointing. We got a pitcher to split and ended up having 5 small (12 oz) ones each. We questioned whether there was any tequila in them, and there couldn’t have been more than a shot or two in the whole pitcher. We even used a breathalyzer right after we left and got a 0.01. So, food was great, but if you’re looking for drinks as well, go somewhere else.

Overall the food was very solid, especially for the price. Got take out, and really that’s the reason for the knocked down star. We couldn’t get through on the phone to order, the website wouldn’t place the order online, so we had to go in place the order and wait. My only other gripe was that the plates weren’t labeled, so it was a game of “guess who’s” to find your plate. Again, overall a great value, just an annoying takeout process.

Vaqueros is an amazing restaurant. It's your standard Mexican restaurant menu. However, the service and the food is a step above the rest. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by a friendly young lady to seat us. Our waitress promptly attended to us with menus, salsas, chips, & beverages. The salsa was fresh and very good. She was super nice as well. Our food came quickly and was very good. Probably the best pico de gallo I ever had. My husband had 2 quesadillas and a taco. He especially enjoyed the shrimp quesadilla. I ordered the veggie fajitas. It came fresh, hot, and sizzling to the table. Nice ambiance also. They are located in Pendleton Square. Great place with amazing food & people in a wonderful town. Can't wait to go back!
