Not a fan of thai cuisine but when we visited Ayala the 30th, there were only a few selection for zomato gold partners so we decided to try Basil. Ordered beef short ribs, grilled prawns and fried rice w/ shrimp. <br/><br/>Servings was good and reasonable for its prices. The taste was surprisingly a delight as well. Condiments and dipping sauces for their dishes would have helped but since Im not well versed with Thai cuisine, I really dont know if their food can be partnered with certain sauces. <br/><br/>Recommended for gold perks and if youre up to try a different taste, head to Basil.

Ordered the pad thai today from Grab Food after reading the reviews. It arrived with a piece of hair on top of the leaking container, which was gross. Decided to try it anyways & it was literally the worst pad thai I ever had. It was sooo salty to the point of being inedible, I immediately threw the whole thing out. The flavor was just all salt, no sweet & sour tones. Also all the bean sprouts were cooked in with the pad thai, instead of being fresh on top. Barely any eggs, shrimp & other toppings.

After a long tiring Tuesday. I think we deserve to eat one of our comfort foods, Thai Dishes. Since the first time I tried Thai Cuisine, it becomes one of my favourites.<br/><br/>FOOD: The first thing we've noticed was generous yung serving nila ng food. Good for lik 3-4pax na.<br/><br/>Tom Yum - it has lots of sahog na seafoods pero wala yung mga dahon dahon and mushroom. And parang kulang sya sa coconut milk. And also not so maasim.<br/><br/>Emerald Chicken- also known as pandan chicken. Over yung dahon so the result, ang liit ng chicken. Haha. The meat was not so malasa.<br/><br/>Fresh Spring roll- hindi ko bet. It has basil leaves kasi.<br/><br/>Grilled Pork with honey- masarap naman.<br/><br/>Thai Milk Tea- Super sarap! Swear! I really loved their milktea. It's so creamy and milky. Napa-take out pa ko!<br/><br/>SERVICE: They accommodated us very well even though pasara na yung mall. Thanks!<br/><br/>PLACE: The ambiance was not so impressive unlike other Thai restau. I think they should renovate or add more beautiful interior designs. All I have to say is this restaurant and branch did not disappoint. Using Zomato Gold, the Pad Thai and Green Chicken Curry is amazing. I will definitely come back for more. What a joke! PadThai that's so salty, grilled squid that has no flavor, no seasoning, no sauce, no taste of cilantro, or much of anything, go back to thailand for some cooking lessons...chicken curry passable but could be less salty. Are you guys using good thai fish sauce? For the price of your dishes...NO STARS! What a waste...Can't get past the bad food to review other aspects. Ok the bottled water was great

The first time we tried basil was at their BGC branch. We had such a good time and wanted the same experience here. Unfortunately, their food wasn't at par. I'm not sure what was different. The food is good, it just wasn't as good.

Went here for dinner with family, the ambiance was really nice even though it was quite dark. Ordered the usual Thai food such as pad thai, curry and Tom yum, they really tasted authentic so I would definitely try their other dishes next time!

Best pad thai and tom yum for me. The beef with holy basil was also quite scrumptious. The thai sisig was a miss for me since I normally expect sizzling sisig. For dessert, we had mango sticky rice. It was ok. Overall, I would go back to Basil.

Came here last night for dinner with the family. I wasn't able to take photos since I was so hungry and the food just wasn't great, i didn't have the interest of taking photos.<br/><br/>The food was too salty, especially the chicken cashiew and honey ribs. The ribs weren't even ribs. Such a disappointment. The curry was still so spicy (and salty) despite asking it to be mild. The lettuce wraps didn't have flavor at all, we had to drench it in the sauce.<br/><br/>The only items we enjoyed were the pad thai (love the chewy texture) and the fried grouper.<br/><br/>I think other branches have better food quality.

Food was average. Not bad but not great either maybe EXCEPT for the tasty Pad Thai which we thoroughly enjoyed. Good thing our reservation for 2pm late lunch was made via the Eatigo app so we got half off our total food bill. They are also currently part of Zomato Gold so you have that option too if you’re a member. FYI they close mid day at 230pm (but of course they let us stay past that until we finished our food) and then they re-open for dinner service. Parking is not a problem, rarely gets crowded in the mall’s basement pay parking especially on weekdays.

The food was good but what lingers is the service that was given to you. The quality of servers you have equals to a cheap fastfood chain which gives a much much much better service. That may be the reason why you have zero customer during lunch time

Its my 3rd time eating in this restau. I love their Pad Thai and Prawns in garlic and black pepper. Adding to my favorites are their Thai bagoong rice and Crispy fish in 3 flavor sauce. Will definitely come back again.

Basil has the BEST pad thai if you’re looking for nice authentic Thai flavors. It can be nicely paired with their crispy squid with red curry mayo since it gives a nice balance in texture. Squid is fried nicely, and I also think the mayo is delicious.

Really slow service here in Basil. Disappointing because the reviews are nice but it took 45 mins to one hour to get what we ordered. And to add to that, they were not able to get everything that we ordered. The restaurant is not even full!

Food is nice as usual. What bothered me is the air con that leaks near our table. Hope the branch fixes this soon. Staff at the Ayala 30th branch are also nice in a manner similar to how the staff at the BGC branch were nice.

This is my 2nd time in this restaurant. First time was not the best experience. The second time’s a charm. I liked everything we ordered. We got pad thai (last time it was too oily), thai squid, rice with shrimps and thai sisig. Thai sisig was a bit weird for me but I think it’s because I’m more used to the Kapampangan style. Thanks to Eatigo, we celebrated a birthday here at 50 off! The interiors were authentic Thai. The catfish salad was good. The fried spring roll was one of the best I’ve tasted, we ordered another one mid meal. Their bagoong rice was good too! I am always wary when waiters do not write on order slips and just rely everything on memory. They ALWAYS forget something. Sooo when I followed-up the other waitress said “ipapa-rush”. Wow ID pic? The theme is Thai but I would say I’ve had better tasting Thai restaurants in the metro.<br/><br/>We ordered papaya salad as a starter, tom yum soup, deep fried grouper with 3 sauce, and of course pad thai. To be honest, nothing wowed me. The service though is great as the staff are very attentive to our needs. <br/><br/>Papaya salad: at first, it was kind of refreshing from the usual atsara lol but as I kept on eating it, everything just tasted sour! It’s super sour. I wish something could have balanced the acidity.<br/><br/>Tom yum soup: this is okay but not great. I guess I was just expecting it to be really spicy. But who knows, maybe Basil’s intention is to make it a little less spicy.<br/><br/>Deep fried grouper: crispy good but I wish the sauce had more depth in flavor. Is it a good dish? Yes! <br/><br/>Pad thai: bean sprouts were not fresh! It had the stale smell which affected the taste. The noodles were slightly overcooked so it was a bit difficult to toss when we added the lime and chili. It was really a letdown coz pad thai is my usual go-to dish whenever I am in a Thai resto. <br/><br/>Overall, the experience is not so great. I wish they could do more in terms of flavor and be very careful in serving dishes with stale ingredients. <br/>

The food was decent! My family liked their order of tom yum, pad thai, beef curry, and crispyfish in 3 sauce. I enjoyed my thai lettuce wrap. Even if I asked to remove the egg, it was still flavorful enough with its sauce, just a bit spicy. Sticky rice with mango was lukewarm but we still enjoyed it too.<br/><br/>Servers were kind and the place looks nice- you'll initially smell something off but you'll get used to it.

It's been years ago since we visited a Thai resto.<br/>I actually do watch YouTube's Thai food Mukbang especially the Papaya Salad with raw seafoods. Overall, Basil offers almost “authentic” Thai food. I would say the dishes were adjusted to cater to Filipino taste - less spicy and a bit salty. Or, maybe I have high tolerance for spicy food that’s why i find the kick a bit lacking.<br/><br/>As for the ambience, it has that Thai feel including the serving dishes they use. As for the staff, they were attentive, friendly and courteous. The restaurant was a perfect place to dine specially if your looking for a place for a meeting or even for couple dates. A complete set of meal is being offered from the appetizers to the main dish plus the desserts and drinks. They also have wines and beers.I loved the Chicken Green Curry they offer and also the Pad Thai. Its superb! The Thai Bagoong Rice and Fresh Spring Roll is also a must try! and of course, your Thai experience will not be complete without tasting the Tom Yum Soup. A perfect blend of spiciness and sourness . Great for a "bed-weather".The staffs were also accommodating specially the one that served us, Robert. He was courteous and accommodating to all our needs.We will surely comeback!

THE PLACE<br/>Ambiance is nice, but there’s a distinct “old” smell inside the restaurant. Ambiance is good as well as the service but food is not. <br/>Pad Thai - salty<br/>Emerald chicken - their version of pandan chicken, salty and No pandan taste.<br/>Fresh spring roll - too much basil, no other taste but basil leaves.<br/>Pomelo salad - so so definitely not the best<br/>Organic berry ice tea - they say its award winning drink but oh man it taste like spoiled beer.<br/><br/>Definitely i will not recommend this for food but if you want a good ambiance and have a good place for conversation other than Starbucks this is definitely a good place to go. Basil is my favorite Thai restaurant. I usually go to their White Plains outlet which has a wonderful ambience. When I visited this new Basil location in Ortigas Center, I could feel the same aura as their WP branch minus all the plants. The food was the same which is exceptional and authentic. Whenever I think of Thai food, I think of Basil. I love Basil!

Visited this restaurant twice with my family, and we had a so-so time, just because we love Thai food.<br/><br/>These are the dishes we've tried so far:<br/><br/>1. Pandan chicken - My kids were happy with the taste and the fact that it was boneless meat (unlike others that use drumsticks or wings), but I find it too small. Sauce is good, though.<br/><br/>2. Crispy spring roll - Too oily and not much filling.<br/><br/>3. Beef basil - This is the dish that I liked the most, although it's not what you'd expect from an authentic Thai restaurant.<br/><br/>4. Thai red prawn curry - Tastes too ordinary, and the prawns were small and few.<br/><br/>5. Tom yun - This is one of my favorite Thai dishes that's why I was really disappointed with Basil's version of this classic. The taste was just off!<br/><br/>Place is small, dark and seems not too clean. Staff were not attentive and were just talking to one another either near the entrance or the kitchen.

What we ordered: Beef red Thai curry, Beef Satay, Thai iced tea and Sticky rice with mango for dessert.<br/><br/>Overall the food was "ok" but considering the price tag it's quite underwhelming. If you're looking for traditional Thai food, this is NOT the place. Dishes are more fusion than authentic. Wrong ingredients in the Thai red beef curry (missing coriander then pineapples and red bell pepper was added as if it was Indian curry). The curry was also watered down so much it took away the flavor. Beef satay was pretty good but the meat was tough. Thai iced tea was just powdered iced tea. Serving size is average but relative to price it has little value. I would not come back.<br/><br/>Reliabaility of this review: I lived in Thailand for several years and cook Thai food. :)<br/><br/>Will I be coming back? Absolutely not.

So here's what happened..<br/><br/>KP and I went to Ayala the 30th to have dinner and we went to Basil to eat Thai food. <br/>The ambiance of the place was okay. it was a bit too dim for me..and the dining area is small. The service was also meh. They weren't that accommodating. <br/><br/>When we placed our order, the server said some of the things we want are out of stock. So we immediately changed it. Our orders were Tom Yum Soup, Chicken Pandan, Pad Thai and Pomelo Salad. <br/><br/>After we ordered, the Pomelo Salad was served right away which was great for KP and I because we are already hungry. After finishing the salad, we waited like 30 minutes for the next dish to arrive and we had to follow up our orders from the servers a couple of times until the supervisor of that shift said to us that all our other orders was already out of stock.<br/><br/>KP was furious because he is already HANGRY! and I too was super irritated because they could have told that earlier so that we can just cancel our orders and look for another resto..I kept telling KP that we shouldn't pay for the salad anymore cause it's our right, but he still paid for it. <br/><br/>The mall closes at 9-9:30-ish and we were left with a few choices to eat. How could you be out of stock of almost all of your items in the menu??! nagbukas pa kayo! sobrang sayang talaga as in sobrang pangit ng experience ko dito. Okay sana yung food eh.. masarap yung pomelo salad pero diba, linggo.. expect na madaming tao. Kahit sa gabi bakit nila hinayaan na mag 86 almost lahat ng items nila. Not gonna eat here ever again. Sobrang nakakainis at nakaka disappoint talaga. Sa management ng Basil, please do something about this kasi hindi sya talaga nakakatuwa.

As a lover of pad thai, I am giving this place a 4.<br/><br/>The place is small, and I don't know why their menu was so heavy! Literally heavy, and you have to be extra careful when handling it cs it might fall off and break. <br/><br/>Their pad thai is really really good!! Or maybe I didn't had pad thai for a long time now so I find it really delicious. Their spring rolls is quite herb-y which I don't like. The serving of the food is small. Yes, so it's not good for sharing except for the rice. I personally love the bagoong rice.

Good good, fair pricing, and great service.<br/><br/>The whole fried lapulapu is their signature dish and it's definitely worthy of the title. Crispy and light with a sweet sauce to dip in if you wish. This has to be the best way I've seen this served, it's perfect.<br/><br/>Thai style mixed vegetables were kind of misleading - it's basically egg and kangkong in a funky sauce, not really impressed. <br/><br/>Red curry was really good on flavor - 5 out of 5, however it was watery and not the usual thick sauce I'm used to.<br/><br/>Overall a good pick for when you have a craving for Thai food.

This resto serves very good thai food. Though the price is on the high, it's worth it. There food servings are good for 2-3 people. The place is cozy in which you can feel the Thai ambiance. However, their blue linoleum-like table cover destroyed the elegance of the place. It made the place look cheap. It doesn't match and does not look good with beautifully crafted wooden chairs. We hope that they replace these table covers. <br/><br/>Pad thai was good. It's a little sweet and full of flavor. I definitely want to go back to try other food on their menu.

30th Mall is the newest go to in the busy Ortigas Center. Although the area already has 5 malls in its vicinity, it oddly welcomed another one. And this shopping and food hub is not that small, it has four floors complete with amenities. <br/><br/>On the outside of the mall which they named Corte houses a number of restaurants in two floors. The variety of cuisine is well distributed. Beside this Thai place is Halal, Mediterranean and on the other side, Lartizan, offering French. <br/><br/>This is already Basil's fourth branch. Their first was in White Plains and as it garnered much success, they took the opportunity to expand now in mall areas. They do Thai well and justifies their higher price tag. <br/><br/>Servings on all our four picks were generous. This is seen most in their rendition of Pad Thai. The taste was similar to the ones I've tried in their country. The peanut was evidently present with the meat and its noodles. I also loved the fact that extra peanuts are available on the side. <br/><br/>Chicken Green Curry (Php 325) was spiced maybe too much but it was still on point on flavor. This sweet version of curry has nice cube pieces of eggplant and fresh leaves of basil. <br/><br/>Stir Fried Vegetables (Php 305) was a surprise as it turned out to be just one vegetable, Spinach. I was actually expecting a number of kinds so I double checked with wait staff if they sent us the right dish. Went on eating it anyway since it was delicious. The mix with scrambled egg was satisfying. <br/><br/>For a sweet ending, I got my favorite Thai dessert, their Halo Halo. I am a fan of water chestnuts and they had plenty of this in their sweet concoction of milk, coconut, syrup and fine ice.

The green curry chicken had very few pieces of<br/> vegetable. It is not green curry if it has no lemongrass. The tom yam shrimp had very few pieces of shrimp, about 4 pieces and some morsels of squid and fish. The fish n squid tastes Malansa. For the price, the food here is not worth it. Thai food you can eat in fastfood at thai malls is better than this.
