Mama's Style Kitchen

Purchased Shopping Show coupons to try Mama's. Small but cute place. Husband had spaghetti & meatball & said it was good. Came with nice salad & roll. I tried their Stromboli, good but would have been better if it was warm inside?? Not sure how that happened, crust was browned, cheese inside was melted but filling was not even warm. Too bad. Sweet tea required an additional 3 bags of sugar. Service was good. Kitchen was a bit slow even though there was only 2 tables to be served. I can't imagine we'll rush to go back, maybe at some point, I like to try new(for us) restaurants twice before I write them off, but was disappointed.

We waited about 10 minutes for a menu, which was finally given to us by a customer. Waited 30 minutes for our order to be taken, then a long, long wait for our food. Spinach artichoke appetizer was pricey for the quantity, with very little spinach or artichokes in it. Club salad did not have much meat at all. I understand they had a server not show up, but it was not a good experience at all.

The prosciutto pasta was delicious! I'm taking dessert home with me, because I'm too full for it now but didn't want to pass that up. The apple stromboli smells wonderful! I plan to bring the husband on a Thursday or Friday soon for the fried catfish. The owner is super friendly! What a great place!!

My Greek salad was literally just Iceberg and Romaine lettuce with black olives (to be fair they were out of kalamata olives) and croutons, with an extremely bland dressing- though bland is to be expected in the Midwestern desert of food palates. Added grilled chicken to get possibly the driest and most over cooked chicken breast I've ever eaten. Staff is super nice though, so maybe salads just aren't their thing.
