Black Walnut

My husband and I tried this place for dinner and were very pleased. We started with the Burgundy mushroom and it was so good. My husband got the Ora King Salmon and it was perfectly seared and the flavor was spot on. I got the New Zealand rack of lamb and it was amazingly tender and so flavorful. We were just too full for desserts. The service was great as well. Portia (not sure if I spelled that right) was our waitress and she was really good and very helpful with her suggestions. We look forward to going back and trying some of the other dishes that they have. The prices were fair for the quality that you get. The atmosphere was nice and unique, it is small and quaint and modern in design. Would highly recommend and we will be back!

Chef Black was gracious enough to come and speak to our students that were interested in a culinary future so I had to drop by later to validate his credentials! 😅 Man-o-man I was not prepared for perfection on a platter! I am not a foodie but that night I became one because there was nothing on the plate that I could say that was not good. Bless yourself by snatching up a reservation while you can! 🤤✌🏾

I don't often write restaurant reviews but I feel this one may help some folks. We heard the food was good here so we went. It's a very well-run restaurant where the hostesses are very professional as are the wait-staff. The decor is a little modern for my taste but once the food came out, everything just climbed from there. This was some of the better food we've ever had. I know they recommend ordering from different parts of the menu to comprise your entire meal (which can get a little pricey), but be careful. They serve good-sized helpings so two dishes were plenty for me even though I ordered three. I greatly appreciated the size of the plates though; they don't skimp at this restaurant and I love it when restaurants do that vs. bringing out these huge plates with just a little food. Everyone in our party loved their meal and was blown away by the flavor. We're a family who likes fine dining and if you're all about the food, Black Walnut should be on your list to try at least once.

I have another date night recommendation for my friends! We ordered the smoked mac n cheese bites, fried green tomatoes, strip steak, and rib tagliatelle. The rib tagliatelle was my favorite - it was flavorful, hearty, and comforting. The service was spectacular, and we loved that it wasn't crowded. Check them out for your next night out with your honey! P.S. You will have to park at an adjacent parking garage and go up one story. You'll have a gate code to get out on your receipt, so take note of that!

We’ve been to Grey Sweater which we thought was amazing so we wanted to try Black Walnut. Food was super good and staff were nice and attentive. We ordered the Chèvre, Salmon, Lobster Bites, and their signature dessert. All were really good and we will certainly come back. It was an awesome birthday dinner!

Talking to a friend about the food scene in Oklahoma, they referred me to check out one of Chef Andrew Black's restaurants. A quick Google search led me to Black Walnut. It's no surprise Black was recently named Oklahoma's first-ever James Beard winner chef of the southwest! I sat at the bar, and started off with the Brussels Caesar salad (which I am obsessed about in and of itself) and this place's was crispy and scrumptious. Looking at the main entrees, I asked the bar keeper what she recommended and without any hesitation said the honey roasted lavender chicken. I'm so happy I listened, because this dish, wow!!!! This dish was an explosion of flavor and magical goodness in my mouth. It's served with a hot water cake, which will help you soak up the utterly yummy sauce. My word, it'll make you want to be bathe in it because it's so damn good!! The meal just for myself came out to be $44, which was not expected, but I am not complaining. It was worth every dollar!
