True Texas Bbq

Good, but not great. I had been wanting to try out True Texas BBQ for a while now. 3 meat plate: brisket, ribs, and sausage with brisket bean, mac & cheese, and jalapeño cornbread. Lean brisket has a good pepper bark, minimal fat, and paired well with spicy BBQ sauce. St Louis ribs were alright, but forgettable. The sausage was super dry just like the bland mac & cheese. Brisket beans were delicious and tasted great with jalapeño cornbread. I’d stick with brisket next time, or maybe try their loaded mac & cheese or spud with brisket.

Over the past few years, H‑E‑B BBQ has been a go to spot for me and multiple guys at work. We loved the staff and we all loved the FRETO PIE!!! I stop in today to get one, craving it all morning, and they tell me they discontinued it. Probably one of the worst things I have had to go through in my life. Unfortunately, you have lost a long loved customer… just when I thought this country couldn’t get any worse

We could not eat the food the chopped brisket was so bad it looked as if it had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours it was so dry, the baked potatoes were so over cooked the skin was burnt. The mac and cheese was so dry we could not eat it. We could have spent 38 dollars and some change at a truck stop and got food off the quick serve that would have been better than this was. I would not give it a 1 if I could have picked a 0

Food is good and staff is friendly. Every time we've ordered they have been out of most of the selections. Last time we ordered online and had to call the corporate office for a refund due to the food we ordered not being available. They weren't able to refund us at the local level. Fix those issues and we would definitely order again.
