Dogtown Sausage

Neighborhood might be a bit sketch for some folks but don't let it deter you!! The food and service was great! I only found this place because of some credit card survey, otherwise I might not have found this gem. Had a chicken fried chicken dog which was delicious. Bun had an excellent density; not as heavy as pretzel buns but still soft. The dog itself was crispy and the slaw on top was a great, slightly spicy, compliment to the savory. The dogyard in the back is something you'd find in Uptown with the wooden walls, patio seating, and backyard decor. They also have space heaters! Staff was super nice as well. Would definitely come back.

A great addition to Oakland food scene. High quality meat and veggie dogs. Aspicy rainbow salad salad, roasted potato salad, dinner chips and fresh lemonade or some of the sides. Great pickles, fresh baked hot dog buns, fantastic chili, great People, affordable food and a marvelous back patio. What more could you want?

What a pleasant surprise. We absolutely loved this place. Its easy to miss from the front of you don't know it is there. The food is delicious and the service was great. I tried a chili cheese dog made with a hotlink and the chicken fried hotdog. Both of them were great. The patio in the back is spacious and shaded. If you are looking for a good hotdog this is one of the best around. The neighborhood around it is a little rough but hopefully this is a sign of the neighborhood getting better.

Nice backyard space, kid-friendly and friendly staff. Wish there were better kiddo options. Unfortunately, the pricey food disappointed cuz the ingredients didn't taste fresh. The hibiscus tea should be stronger. Hopefully they will work out the kinks...hope they become a cool hangout in the neighborhood!

Ali, the head chef, and the gentlemen who took our order tonight showed a great deal of hospitality. Based on how clean, courteous, and the caliber of food, we could tell the owners really care about their customer's and who they serve. Typically in most restaurants you can't get great service, but the cashier, Ali, and the head chef all made sure we enjoyed ourselves. Only thing was the loitering outside the door. It was difficult getting in and out. The buns were not typical and very good, the tatertots had a homemade taste and quality, the toppings definitely complimented the dogs. Great job!
