I played here on a Thursday night as part of the North Tyneside Saturday Music Centre Easter Concert Series. It was a very decent place to play indeed! The facilities worked well to accommodate many young folk keen to perform to a packed house. I don't think it's particularly cheap to hire, but venues like this often don't survive through financial difficulties (lack of support). Head along and check it out, even just for a brew/beer and bite to eat. Parking was tough admittedly due to maintenance works, so for now maybe get the metro down or walk if possible.

Pete's Pub Quiz at 8pm on Monday Evenings is now a firm favourite with me and a group of pals. The atmosphere is great, with banter and laughs, and there is a good choice of drinks available at the bar. It is just off Howard Street in what feels like a little world of its own. I look forward to the summer when the doors can be opened out onto the pleasant courtyard. Don't be put off by the scaffolding all around the Saville Centre (Spring 2022) as The Exchange is open as normal. And when the work is done the building will be in a better condition to withstand the next decade. And at the same time Howard Street is being pedestrianised and repaved, along with the refurbishment of Northumberland Square.
