Cracker Barrel

We were seated quickly. Our waitress wonderful ! Ciffe perfecf! Pancakes nummy! BUT when i checked out the cashier was not a happy camper. No smile, not a thank you or a grunt! I spent 129$ you think a Happy Holiday. NO ! He could have looked at us! No ! he should have been one of the cooks. You dont have to smile at chicken legs or meatloaf! An egg doesnt need a Merry Christmas!

Now I'm not the biggest fan of eating at Cracker Barrel, but who can pass up the gift shop? Don't get me wrong, the food is usually good & that day was no exemption. But if I wanted home cooking, I would have stayed home. Since it wasn't my turn to pick, I just smiled & enjoyed someone else's version of my cooking. The food was good as always, and you can count on it tasting the same at each Cracker Barrel, which is not a bad thing if you don't want to cook. You could always count on a great time in the gift shop too. That may also be the reason alot of seniors like it so much. My in-laws thought it was the greatest place since the 5 & dime. They used to find the drinks there like when they were kids. It always made them happy. I, of course, always found at least 1 clothing item I couldn't resist & if you like knick knacks, there is no better place to find the unusual item. I have to admit that this time I saw this place as my in-laws did years ago. I may be getting up there in age and maybe I see things a little different now cause the old stories they used to tell us about the drinks they loved so much I find myself telling my grandkids about except it is about the old candies. Who over the age of 60 doesn't remember Dots? How much paper did we eat as kids with that candy? Well, this trip put a big smile on my face as memories filled my head. Go check out the gift store, but make sure you eat a good meal before hitting the gift store for the old candies you loved so much as a kid. You know, I don't remember looking at the clothes this time, but I still found something I couldn't resist.

This was a standard Cracker Barrel experience for us. We were very warmly greeted, and quickly seated. The food was exactly what we have come to expect. The highlight for us was our server, Hayden who was outstanding! He was extremely engaging and friendly. He was attentive and knew everything on the menu and made sure we had a good meal.

The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Each day of the week has a meal that is featured for that day. Friday is the fish and chips. You have to try! They do have restrooms at the back. Be sure to look at the seasonal items that is out in the store. There is handicap parking if you need that. Also has a place to park for food pickup from online orders. The place is just off I-40 so at times the place will be busy.
