Sushi Plus

It's okay. I went there twice, and the first time the sushi and sushi rolls tasted pretty good. The second time we went it didn't taste so fresh, everything was kinda off. Not sure if we caught them on an off day, or what happened. The oil they used for their tempura calamari tasted old. The prices were average, not too expensive for sushi, but not cheap either. But the people were very friendly to us both times.

This is our family's go-to sushi spot. It's consistent, a good value and typically not too busy. Service tends to be a little absent-minded, but they get it done. I recommend eating in as all three times we've had take-out there's been so something wrong with the order. The only thing I really wish is that they'd put a couple thales outside. They're one of the few Montrose restaurants with no outdoor seating so that means we pass them over when we have the dog with us.

I used to go here frequently years ago with my girlfriend at the time. Decided to go back a couple weeks ago, and it had taken a turn for the worst. The service was slow, even though it was a quiet weekday afternoon. The sushi itself is the worst I have ever paid for. The nigiri was cut sloppily: the pieces of fish were way too thick to chew easily and did not stick to the rice at all. The rice itself was not well vinegared, and had almost no flavor or stickiness. Even the "remember 9/11" roll I ordered was dry and lacking flavor. On top of all this, it wasn't even as cheap as I remembered. The nigiri was ~$4.50 per order and the roll was ~13. On the whole, very disappointing. There are much better low cost sushi places in the area, so sushi plus better step it up.
