Monsoon

The food itself was okay. I ordered a medium spicy level and it felt like there was absolutely no spice in it. normally when I say medium I still get a fairly spicy dish at an Indian restaurant but this one was not spicy at all. I'm not sure if it's because they just thought I couldn't take it or if they just don't add very much spice to their food. The service was a little slow but they did only have one waitress. Overall I'm glad that another Indian restaurant has popped up in Modesto.

I have dined-in at Monsoon three times, back in the time when you could "dine in," twice for lunch and once for dinner. The food was wonderful and the service was prompt and gracious. Since the hiatus on dining-in at restaurants, I have ordered-out several times. I have never been disappointed. The food is great, exactly what I'm craving each time. Family fave, for sure. I am so glad we have good local Indian cuisine!

This was my first visit and I was greeted immediately upon walking in which set the tone for the great customer service I experienced during my visit. My lamb curry was brought out quickly along with my garlic naan and both were puping hot. The portion was a very good size and reasonably priced but most importantly it was delicious! I would highly recommend stopping by and will definitely be returning. Oh, and if you decide to order a beer as I did, it will be brought out very cold as it should be. Enjoy!

I used to own Indian restaurants in the bay area and now i am all done and will never even think about opening another. It is a painful task! I am usually not in to writing reviews but this places deserves it. I worked in 5 star hotels in India, here in United States Indian food is below average. I was coming back from Yosemite and decided to stop at monsoon for dinner. Place was packed. I was really hungry and the server recommended me to order lamb. I ordered Lamb Biryani, Dal and Butter Chicken(yes i was by myself). Lamb was so tender, it had no fat and no gamy taste. Dal was little mild for me but i asked for some hot sauce and it did the trick. Butter Chicken was the most delicious I ever had, I did tell to make it Desi (typical northern Indian style) So Chef came outside and informed me if i want Desi style i will have to wait. I am glad I did, It blew my mind! i am impressed!

Best food I've had in a very long time. If I could give 6 stars I would. I like spicy, but no one on my party does. So they made my orders mild and medium with a little cup of spicy sauce on the side. The chicken achari was amazing. Prawn coconut masala hit a spot I was looking for. So glad to have tried them.

The food is fantastic, the staff is friendly! Admittedly, this is my introduction to Indian food, but I am very impressed! The butter chicken is amazing, the seekh kebab is delicious (especially with mint chutney), and make sure you try the hand-made samosas! In fact, all of the food here is hand-made, fresh, and delicious. You can order dishes to your preference of spiciness, just ask!
