Osaka Sushi

When your favorite sushi spot is closed on Sundays you end up at a new spot, and I can honestly say we were not disappointed. We paid a visit on 12/5/21. I will definitely be adding this spot to our list of places to eat when in the mood for Sushi! Since it was our first time here I wanted to make sure we tried a couple rolls and every single roll we ordered was plated beautiful and great in size. They all had generous amounts of flavor and everything was fresh. The Tuna jalapeño poppers we tried were so good! Spicy but good! I definitely would recommend trying them! The Miso soup was tasty and warm, always a great way to start our meal. Our favorite rolls of the night were the monster and red dragon. I had no complaints about this location at all, even with this place being slightly busy the service was fast and efficient. Our Waitress Ricky was fantastic and checked in with us often. She refilled our drinks and was attentive to remove sushi plates as they emptied. Love when restaurants have fantastic food and amazing servers/workers! I ordered about 6 sushi rolls for about $65. It was so convenient to order them over the phone and pick them up. The rolls I enjoyed the most were the Texas, Teriyaki, Shrimp Tempura, and Spider rolls. They all had tasty sauces and tasted delicious!! I highly recommend these rolls. The Rain roll did not taste good because of the raw tuna, which had a mushy texture and odd taste. I also ordered the Philly roll. It's very thin. It's a nice snack. Overall, I loved most of the sushi rolls I ordered. 😋 I'd definitely ordered here again! If you're looking for a good sushi restaurant with reasonable prices, then this place is for you!

I've been coming here for as long as I can remember and the past 2 times have been disappointing. The food is always good but the service is lousy. The girl kept forgetting everything we asked for including the tea bag for tea, Then the edamame next was the ramen soup and then we sat for 10 minutes after asking for our check. Then we flag her down and she says oh I thought you already paid. At that point I was ready to just get up an leave.

Great place to eat outstanding sushi. The parking lot was spacious. The interior was clean and gorgeous. My partner and I came here for our 2nd anniversary and concluded it was worth the drive from Merced. I especially enjoyed the Mangolicious Roll, Golden Phoenix Roll, and the Koriyama Light Cheese Cake.

It was one of the best sushi experiences in Modesto. Have to really pick what you know you'll like but at the same time you can choose something new. Great variety and taste. Very colorful. Our server didn't eat sushi though so asking about what she liked was a bit difficult, so she just recommended what was popular. It all worked out great.

I have been coming to Osaka Sushi with my wife for about 10 years and I can honestly say I have never had a bad meal with them. My wife, who when I first met did not enjoy Japanese dishes, now fully enjoys them thanks to Osaka Sushi. There is something about the atmosphere, ambience, hustle and bustle and of course the smell of hot delicious food that makes you want to grab a seat. The dishes and drinks are always on the mark and quite frankly I have a very hard time not going to Osaka when someone asks about going out to grab Japanese food. Do yourself a favor if you haven't eaten here, and eat here, plan and simple.

I had high hopes for this place looking at the reviews. Unfortunately if you are going for the nigiri I do not recommend this place for anyone. The fish we got was very fishy tasting and very dry. Any sushi restaurant can make rolls but making sure your fish is fresh is another story. So in conclusion if you are looking for a place that serves you rolls (that hide the flavor of the actual fish with all the sauce they put) and fried food then you shouldn't have any issues eating here. Just hope you don't get sick like we did later that night...... Sadly we do not recommend this place or will be coming here ever again.
