Sweet Chow

This place is so cool! At first, we thought they were a bakery/ice cream from the name of it but we decided to check it out and glad we did. Great service, huge portions and delicious/fresh food. They do make and save their own ice cream though! Even vegan ice cream that was surprisingly good! They also have a bar and happy hour.

A stylish space with a nice variety of starters and mains. Was a little disappointed by the taste, though, which was somewhat one dimensional (brisket was overwhelmingly peppery, pad see ew was just salty). The wings were great and the best thing we ordered. It also seems like portion sizes have been reduced lately, based on some of the older pictures.

Loved it! Had the brisket rice bowl on a staff recommendation. A delicious, huge meal. The couple next to me was also audibly happy with the several dishes they ordered. I'd been in once just for coffee shortly after they opened - not sure why I waited so long to return. Now I regret all the time lost that I could have been eating here. I think this spot fills a good casual-setting flavor-profile niche in the otherwise American-leaning North Loop restaurant scene.
