Murray's

The most amazing dinner of my entire life. Travelled to Minneapolis from Canada for the Vikings game, and made this one of the dinner spots for the trip. By far the best steak I have ever had. I got the peppercorn sirloin. The garlic jam was DEADLY! I am not being dramatic when I say BEST steak of my life. Cannot speak highly enough of this place. Just be prepared to spend money. Dinner was approx. $500 in Canadian dollars for my girlfriend and I accounting for the tip.

Excellent service and food on every visit! While there are other steakhouses in town, Murray’s is always my top recommendation. It’s classic in all the right ways. I have a food allergy that was managed with care which gave me great confidence in the service. That care was extended throughout the meal. Only downside to this visit was a loud table nearby. Usually the place is humming along nicely with great background music and has a much more intimate feeling. However, the food and service more than made up for our boisterous neighbors.

Old school! Est 1946. Great cocktail selection, their Sidecar rivals my own. Steak was great, sides were great, but dessert, oh my! Do not miss the blueberry bread pudding. Do not miss the raspberry pie. The chocolate tort was good. Creme brûlée - it was good, but honestly my 14-year-old makes one just as good. Don't ever order creme brulee, it costs like $0.50 to make! Apologies if this is a spoiler for you.

Great TC iconic steakhouse. All the steaks are great, but the dry aged strip and peppercorn steak were excellent, and of course the butterknife is iconoclastic. Consider if you have a big group, that you can order it as a 'shareable' for the whole table 😉. Lots of crusted options and butters you can accent with. The crispy brussels were great, and the French onion is a must. It is rich and oniony, BUT NOT oversalted like so many are. Perfectly seasoned. The pablano corn and the mac & cheese are great side options. Staff was on the spot, super knowledgeable and just the right balance of attentiveness and let-you-eat in peace. Wine menu and drinks menu are outstanding. Not crazy formal, so definitely family friendly and kids were in there for big family events. It's downtown, so parking is a challenge. If you are splurging, they have valet options.

We went here after a tour of Target Field. We were early for our reservation but were graciously offered to sit at the bar and wait. We were also given menus if we wanted to order some food, which we did. Our server was excellent and she asked if we were from out of town which we are and she asked if it was our first time there which it was. We had appetizers in the bar and then settle our check when our reservation time came up. We moved to the dining room and were sat at a very good table in a quiet part of this restaurant. We ordered more food including the butter knife steak for two which actually fed the three of us there was no pressure to order more food and the waitress and wait staff were very attentive and friendly. I was celebrating my birthday and they obliged with a small cake and candle. Overall, we could not have had a better experience at Murray's and I cannot recommend it enough if you were in downtown Minneapolis and looking for a premium dining experience.

We were so excited to visit Murray's after discovering it on the list of top steakhouses in America! We were delighted from the moment we walked in with the ambiance and warmth of the staff. Our waiter, Shane, was most knowledgeable and his recommendations for beverages and steak temperatures were spot on. This establishment honors its tradition by exceeding expectations and is a must visit when in the Twin Cities.

I have not been here for years but it was worth the wait. We had the butter knife steak and some Mac and cheese. This steak is my favorite in the twin cities. The atmosphere was great ....the parking is not great but ramps all around. If you are looking for a steak in the twin cities , this is the best of the options.
