Palomas Restaurant

My boyfriend and I lived here for a little over a year and we loved it. Parking was convenient, and they even gave me a spot for my motorcycle in the summer. Our apartment was beautiful with high ceilings and cement floors. it made for a very easy clean up. One down side i would say is that none of the windows open, but as my boyfriend and I are not smokers this was not an issue. The management is very nice and responsive. Mike the maintenance guy is also very nice and helpful. The neighborhood is a dimond in the rough, meaning it is a bit dirty with some glass on the side walks but it has some of the best restaurants and antique shops around. it is only about a mile away from multiple kayak launches into the milwaukee river and it is a short walk from the third ward.

I've lived at Mercantile for about 18 months and have no major complaints, I have a 2bed/2bath unit. The views are unbeatable, the lofts are spacious with brand new everything. Counter tops are granite and fridge/washer/dryer/shower is all full size (in my 7 years of Milwaukee apartment-living experience... that is hard to find). There is a basement gym with 2 tvs, 2 treadmills, a bike, an elliptical, and various free weights. There are security cameras on the parking lot & stairways. Pets are allowed, and if you have a dog you know how hard it is to find a place that is both nice and pet friendly(!!) this place meets both of those criteria. This place is about 1 mile from downtown/wisconsin ave in milwaukee and walking distance to a TON of great restaurants and events. Walkable to: MKE night market, FUEL, MOTOR, twisted fisherman, poto, MKE brewing and , purple door, a handful of great mexican places, engine company #3, the national cafe, anodyne coffee, the iron horse hotel bars/restaurants & many more. The rent is what I would expect for the size, location, amenities, and pet-friendly nature of the building. Parking is also reasonable compared to downtown. I know other reviews are mentioning car break ins... but that is in no way specific to the building or management - its downtown in an upcoming neighboorhood and anyone in the city runs that risk. If you've lived in any major city for any length of time, you know not to leave valuables VISIBLE in your car in order to reduce/eliminate the risk of a car break in.

Just moved in. Beautiful building. Great apartments. Appliances are not only new, but full sized. No half dishwasher or smallest washer/dryer combo here. New cabinets in the kitchen & baths. Ginormous windows for plenty of natural light. Also new modern lighting fixtures. With ceiling fans in the bedrooms. Polished concrete floors with carpeted bedrooms. Secured entry and the parking lot is patrolled. Building management is professional and extremely helpful.

I've been living here for a few months and really love it. The management here is awesome and the building is well maintained. The neighborhood has easy parking on the street and a lot of good places to eat like The National cafe, Conejitos, and Anodyne. The apartments are very comfy and the heating costs in the winter are low. The walls are very well insulated - I pretty much never hear my neighbors. I highly recommend it if you can find an apartment here.
