THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED. Being in the neighborhood for going on 20 years, I've seen many restaurants come and go in this high traffic locale. This is, by far, the most successful tenant yet. There can be no other reason why this place has survived... delicious food. If you choose the mole sauce, you won't be disappointed.
I usually get the chicken enchiladas... choice of sauce. Verde? Awesome! Chicken is tender, fresh, and savory. Tomatoes, lettuce, avocados always fresh. The guacamole and chips are fantastic. Their desserts are great too. Beer and tequila available.
This tiny gem is cute with colorful tables and large windows that bring lots of light in which makes this venue seem larger than it really is. Friendly wait staff too.
I've read a couple of negative reviews and I honestly don't know why. I patronize Quiote nearly every month and I've never had an unpleasant experience. Give them a try. You won't be disappointed.

Quiote is our go-to local place. It's the place we go when we want an intimate atmosphere and great Mexican. Their molé is exceptional, their portions are generous, and their Mexican Coke is cold!

I love the food here. The place is small, the service a little slow but the food and Margaretta's are really good. The green dipping sauce is outstanding. check the place out. good for when your not in a hurry.

I have seen negative comments about this place here and on other restaurant review sites which confuse me. This is a very cozy family restaurant, and any wait staff issues would be from the timidness of the customer not asking simple questions. If the owner's daughter or niece is working, they haven't been given the corporate chain restaurant spiel and I actually like that. The food is fresh and great. It's not the La Fuente style which has its own meritand great for eating there or carry out.

Awesome food. I've been there a few times now. It's super tiny and can be slow when it's packed (often). It's surprising how many people fit in that little building. It really feels like a family gathering. Absolutely worth it every time.

The food is amazing! I strongly suggest any of their steak or pork dishes, they're seasoned divinely. Chorizo is also good, but chicken dishes are nothing special. Portions and prices are good for the quality of food. I get take out frequently. The seating area is tiny, and can feel crowded, but on a slow night can feel intimate and cozy. I highly recommend the bistec con Rojas y queso, enchiladas, and tostadas. They have several other traditional dishes that are also quite good

Such a great small place. It's authentic Mexican food, every time I get guacamole and a different entree and have loved each meal. The margaritas always hit the spot especially in summer. It's the best Mexican spot without having to go to the 5th ward.

This place is shockingly good. All food seems prepared once it is ordered which might account for the 20 minute wait for but it is so worth it. It is fresh, unique, and I love it.
